so does everyone still uninstall and driversweep the old files before installing new drivers?  or are we past that to just installing overtop of the existing set?

I have done it both ways and don't seem to have issues either way.

I havn't had to do that since the later nvidia drivers now have a clean install check box, it works fine.

do a "customized" install and you will find it.

I've done both, I honestly don't see a difference and have never had any issues. I still driver sweep just because I don't like old files hanging around.

+1 to that. I do a CCleaner on the registry prior to installing the drivers just to get rid of any residual references which may not be reused. Just old habits which I really don't want to break at this point.

FattysGoneWild Anyone notice a older version of Physx comes with these drivers? Version 9.12.0209 Yet Nvidia has a newer release that came out today with the new drivers. Nvidia PhysX 9.12.0213 http://www.nvidia.com/obj...-9.12.0213-driver.html
I noticed it, but it's not uncommon.  PhysX and GeForce drivers have different development paths.  Since (almost?) nothing I run uses PhysX it's no big deal to me.

I am not really happy with this driver because i do get fps lag. Normally my gpu usage was always on 99% no matter what but now its dipping whole time from 99% to 70/80/85/90/95% why??

And i am using the new Afterburner beta.

I always boot into safe mode after uninstalling the video drivers in windows and use Driver Sweeper, then install the new drivers. Been following this guide since maniacvvv first created it.

I will either find a way, or make one.

@headshawtz
You have the same problem as me. Did You solve it mean while?

@Nahte27
Could be an option, thanx. I will wait a bit and see if more SLI-user encounter this bug.

No i did not fix it, i have had this problem since 295 beta, so im still using 285.79 because they work best.

Not sure what Nvidia is doing different with these drivers but my idle temperatures in SLI have dropped significantly.  20 degrees on the card with the display attached and 12 degrees on the other.

Awesome!  My whole machine runs significantly cooler now without all the heat generation.

Heard from a reliable source on another forum that Nvidia is working on a SLI profile fix for SWTOR and it is coming... But as they say, it's in Nvidia's hands.

I don't think anyone was expecting Bioware to make an SLI profile, but maybe see if there was any way to improve performance via a patch on their end.

Let me reiterate, these crashes never happened at all during the SWTOR beta with several hours of playing *and* Hi-Res textures enabled in the game.

So, while the majority of the responsibility does lay with Nvidia and an SLI profile, I can't believe that there's nothing Bioware could do on their end.

I'm sticking with the game.

Since there seems to be a lot of real BF3 warriors on here, anyone know of a good U.S./West Coast server that is on point with cheaters? I would love to get back into that game, but wasn't having fun with all the cheaters. Admittedly I haven't played it since before the last major update as I got sucked in pretty hard by SWTOR. So maybe it's all good now? Or at least better?

(I really don't understand men who cheat at videogames. Just like I don't understand men who pay for sex. And saying you pay her to go away doesn't count. It only counts if she wants to be there on her own out of desire. Just like a leaderboard score only counts if it's earned through play skills, and not hacks..)

Anxiously awaiting ME3, as it's the only thing that has got me itching to play besides SWTOR and cheat free BF3..

Good Times.

Im having issues trying to get this installed, well the graphics driver is installing just fine my issue is with physx.
I uninstalled everything in add/remove like I always have(physx first then graphics like mainiaxx guide says), and now in add/remove I dont see physx, but when I try to install the new driver, physx keeps failing becouse it says I have one installed still(9.11.0621)
I used a driver sweeper and even the driver sweeper doesnt see it anymore but it still shows in the new install that its there and continues to fail

I suggest leaving the driver installed (as is), and then attempting a Custom install with the Graphics driver and Physx checked -and- clean install, right over the top and when its completely done, reboot

If that does not work, put back in the old driver you were using, this will rewrite the Physx entries.
Then follow the above method (overwrite) again using 295.73

Nah, just install the new PhysX over the old one. You don't even need to reboot.

I noticed when I fired up BC2 my resolution was off.  Went to change it back and it had the 119Hz option instead of my normal 120.  Had this in the past, not a big deal just haven't had that issue in quite a while.

thats not uncommon, some of my games will set back to default or auto detect settings when new drivers are detected.

Works ok for me.
Jumped from 295.51 to 295.73
Had a small performace boost in 3Dmark11 from P9460 to P9515.
The artifacts I have in some games are still there.

Anyone here using a 3-Way SLI with these drivers? I'd like to know how they work for you.

I get these random GPU usage drops which of course means my fps drop well below 60fps for no reason, and 285.62 WHQL runs perfectly fine.

What number should I be running on the renderaheadlimit of the user.cfg file on Battlefield 3 folder? I think default is 3, I will try 0 and others now, maybe that's the issue.

So far reeally dissapointed at these drivers with my 3-Way SLI, even though I really wanted them for other games like Skyrim and Batman AC. :(

So far so good!! Now a workable SLI configuration compared to the previous released betas. The identifcation of multiple monitors for Surround works very well for Quad SLI.
3D has some funnies when applying config changes, but got it to eventually work.
Noticable improvement on the games as well.

The PhysX did fail and simply ran the .msi file from the install directory (as pointed out by Heavy in his comment):
C:\NVIDIA\DisplayDriver\295.73\WinVista_Win7_64\English\PhysX\PhysX_9.12.0209_SystemSoftware.msi

Answering to my own post above, I went back to 295.73 WHQL now (from 285.62 WHQL) and now I don't seem to have any issues.

Played Conquest Large Metro and Sharki Peninsula and got a steady 64fps all the time.

Will test more later, right now I'm using the renderaheadlimit 0 in the user.cfg file of the BF3 folder, seems to run pretty good.

If nothing goes wrong today then I'll leave it at 0. :)

Max vram I saw in Sharki Peninsula was like 1170MB, maniac, do you recommend me setting the texture back from High to Ultra?

Here's hoping this set doesn't BSoD like the previous set. :\

I tried both of these and nothing is working, When trying to install the old driver I was using, the option to install Physx doesnt even show up so I cant check or uncheck it.
Ive gone thru safe mode with driver sweeper and ccleaner and it still says physx is still there, and when I try to run the physx installer from the install directory I keep getting an error, Error 1327. Invalid Drive E:\
This is driving me nuts, I've never had so much trouble with a graphics driver before :/

Are you trying to install PhysX in Safe Mode?  If so, you can't.  PhysX requires MSI which isn't available in Safe Mode.  Read the Release Notes.

But you can (re)install or remove PhysX at any time from normal Windows mode.
