Terrible drivers for flash games. Lots of freeze ups when using flash player.

Installed 304.79 BETA driver last night on a new PC with fresh win7 x64. This is the first time I've used any of the R300 drivers since this is completely new machine. I am experiencing "driver stoppped working/recovered" while idling on the desktop.
i7 3820, x79 SLI, 2 x GTX670 in SLI.
Wondering if this may partly be due to some software missing or not updated at this stage. Will run updates and install more stuff tonight. Post results later.

Seemingly didn't get any desktop errors while idling this evening. However, as soon as I ran the Fur Stress Test in OC Sanner X the video died and never came back. Only happened once and I did test it a few times after restarting.

Latest two Betas : The same issues when SLI is enabled - Start clean driver install - after 20% - click and both monitors shut down. Push reset button - windows color bubbles splash screen is OK ( W7 ) and before entering standard welcome screen in high resolution - click and monitor off. :-( After I must start computer in save mode - install latest WHQL and after it works fine .... Grrrrr

My GTX 680 went red when I installed this driver while playing Diablo 3. My temp sky rocketed to 90+ watching my in game temp with Evga Precision.
Uninstalled 304.79 put old drivers back in and fan control kicked in.
If your having system reboot and crash check your gpu temps.

Windows 8 RP internet explorer desktop version crash everytime with NVidia driver installed. Solution? Keep opening IE D.ver everytime till the last one didn't crash however opening new tab is another story...
And I didn't suffer stuttering on 3D benching until trying new driver and back to usually windows 8 whql driver.

Hi guys,
With this latest driver I still have problem while playing game.Starting game at beginning was fine then around 5 min' later the screen is white out ( too bright on screen) can not see anything but you feel the game is playing you can shoot by clicking mouse...etc but the only thing is can not see on screen.
Any helps !

This driver almost killed my EVGA GTX 680. Card was at 100% load while sitting on the desktop and my temps started to climb. I had to roll back the driver in order to get the card to go idle. First driver I've ever had an issue with.

Bad performance in The secret world and BF3 with this driver, drops all the way down to 30 fps on ultrabf3 (1080) And never goes over 50fps in TSW.
Heaven bench scores 1138 on stock speeds

NOT liking these at all..... games have been so/so performance -BUT- the real deal killer is the every-so-often screen blackouts.??? !!!
for no reason these make the monitor just blank out...comes back in 15 secs sometimes, longer other times, makes no sense. I'll go back to WHQL

Is there a possibly that Nvidia driver messing other driver setting as well? Because I experienced on Windows 7 the Titanium HD soundcard are being amplified/messed up setting for no reason when Nvidia Driver installed. I yet to test beta driver from Creative for Windows 8 RP. Edit: Uninstall driver, used CCleaner appearing they can't delete on non-safemode had to do another reboot in safemode cleaned afterward. Restart install Creative driver, reboot and somehow it take longer than usually boot. I knew it no sound coming from output. Going delete again. >.> Though my IE10 Desktop works fine now without getting crash by merely opening the files. xD

Anyone ever seen an orange screen of death? After exiting a few 3d applications my second monitor plugged into my second gtx670 went orange and the pc locked up.

Yesterday, came home to find pc still running with several 3D applications still cranking along nicely. I went to start up mumble to join some friends playing a game and the system locked up. I'm guessing it had something to do with mumble loading the overlay. Usually it doesn't work unless you start mumble first anyway, so unsure.
I had to use softoff to get it to shut down and then restarted it. After the Win7 loading screen the video signal went out and the pc locked up again. It will not boot up past this point anymore.
Any suggestions for resolving the issue? I can boot into safe mode. Similar thing happened last week (see previous posts in this thread) and the only way I could get it to work again was to reinstall windows and everything along with it. I really don't want to have to do that all the time.

Slim this may work. -boot into safe mode and delete the Nvidia drivers in Add/Remove Programs. Start with Physx and whatever else, then end with the graphics driver. Also delete the folder in your C:/Nvidia/DisplayDriver/xxx.xx, its the numbers of the beta drivers. -Reboot again and see if you can log into windows without having to go into safe mode. If you can download, here are the latest WHQL drivers 301.42 and download Driver Fusion, reboot in safe mode and run Driver Fusion, Analyze the Nvidia Physx and Display then proceed to remove. Reboot as it says, and install drivers, hope it helps in some way.
I will either find a way, or make one. ٩(๏̯͡๏)۶

These drivers have a problem with second life.
Im guessing Nvidia are too busy with the Unauthorized intrusion attack on their website to release a new driver.

Turns out one of my video cards is probably shagged. Tried with one card; worked. Swapped the cards (same model, same slot); wouldn't boot...
1 out of 2 brand new cards isn't bad.

I am finding both 304.48 beta and 304.79 beta lowering my benchmarking scores and maximum overclocks stability on 670 vanilla card ... and yet I am running 304.48 now, because of the "performance improvements" for certain games ...
how do you guys like the 304.79 in games? I just benched it and rolled back (Heaven3.0 score went down), haven't even played any games yet on 670 card, need to finish OC'ing this GPU first ...

Been running 304.79 since released, they are the best for me, very stable and smooth in all games copared to 304.48 beta and 301.42 WHQL especially on the 600 series cards, have multiple system and can say that for all 304.79 are the best overall!!! Honestly benchmarks mean nothing if real world applications (aka Games) dont run smooth and stable, I also noticed what you said about benchmarks but overall in gameplay the 304.79 are the best hands down for me!

all right, point taken  ... I haven't played any games on my 670 card yet  ... have been having it for 2 days only LOL! still stabilizing the gpu oc  ... and benchmarking for most of the time ha ha!  will reload 304.79 and go from there
