Alright, so my computer has been freezing up while playing Starcraft 2. The image becomes messed up and I have to restart the computer. Sometimes I can alt tab out of the game and it will display the message, "Display driver has stopped responding and has recovered." I have an image of what the screen looks like and I also have posted my specs below.

http://img69.imageshack.us/img69/391/freezg.jpg

Specs:
Processor: Intel Core i7 930
Memory: 6GB RAM
Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 480 Superclocked
Operating System: Windows 7 64-bit
Motherboard: EVGA X58 SLI
Power Supply: Corsair 750W PSU

Thanks for any help.

did you overclock? this happens when its unstable for me.  If its not a oc issue , it could be your psu, and also possibly your card, but i doubt it, if everything else is running fine.

I haven't overclocked. Is there a way to test if my clocks are stable? It seems to me that the problem is only happening on Starcraft 2. I've been playing DiRT 2 and I haven't had anything like this happen while playing it.

Does this always happen or only during certain instances? Also what are the temps on your card while running the game, if you can get a good reading.

I almost got the same setup.

i7 940 on Asus Rampage III Extreme
    Corsair 750W T Series
    Corsair Dominator 6GB
    EVGA GTX480 non-oc
    Windows 7 64bit

It did froze on me once where the screen is frozen and no sound. I knew it was frozen because my G15 keyboard wouldnt switch applets nor caplocks would switch.

This happen in a beta dota custom map. I figure it was a bug in the map where there was too much tweaking and modification involved.

No issues with league, coop, campaign or any other custom I've played so far, over 50 rounds played.

It's always happening. Just played a quick game with a bot and my temps didn't go over 80.

Yeah, I've read about this too. I forced v-sync in Nvidia Control Panel to make sure that the game is staying at 60FPS.

Just turn the v-sync on and it should be ok. My temp is around 60 to 70 Celsius after hours of playing.

V-sync isn't helping. I've been playing to see if it is freezing or not, but it just froze again.

I'm running a GTX 480 with GTX 460 as dedicated physx and although SC2 hasn't crashed for me yet, there have been several random parts in the game where everything just starts stuttering on the screen and fps drops harshly. What i can't understand is that this happens even when there aren't many units on the screen.

Sometimes i can have a screen absolutely choked up with zerglings rushing at 1000,000 miles per hour and the game runs fine without a single stutter. Other times when i have only 5 or 6 units on the screen, the game DOES stutter. I'm guessing its a bug in the game that will require patching. Or perhaps Nvidia needs to address the issue in one of their patches.

My temps, as I said above, only get to around 80 degrees. My drivers are at the latest version. I updated the proper way too. I'll try updating my sound drivers right now.

This is happening to a lot of people if you read on the starcraft 2 forums. Starcraft 2 just needs to get updated. I have had it where the game locks up or crashs randomly. It has also slowed down to around 20fps on some cut scenes and in the game. Its either the drivers need optimized for this game or its the game. EVGA feel like putting out a SLI patch for starcraft 2. I think some of the problems are with people with SLI. I have 2 way SLI with 470's.
