Is anyone else experiencing this ? every so often my desktop will get these horizontal red/green lines appearing on my screen, they only do so for a split-second, it does not happen in games, and the video-card does not seem defective, it runs all games with no issues, benchmarking no issues, I though for a second that maybe it was my monitor, but I put an older HD6870 in my machine and the flicker issue subsides. These flickers appear everytime I get to my desktop on startup, and intermittently from thereon.

Have you tried all available display ports (hdmi, dvi, dp) to see if they all produce the same flicker?

By subsides, do you mean gone, or less noticeable? If you mean less noticeable, it could possibly be a cable issue.

Sounds like a cable issue as HeavyHemi has suggested.

I have not tried all the display ports, my monitor is a 24" HP W2408H, that only has a single HDMI and VGA port, my cable is currently an HDMI to DVI-D, have no other cables such as HDMI to HDMI,  and by subsides I mean it does not do it with the HD6870, no flickers. Guess I'm gonna have to buy an HDMI to HDMI to try, Ive not found a HDMi to DisplayPort cable, guess maybe they dont exist ?

problem seems to have been solved, my old cable was DVI-D(Single Link)-HDMI, picked up an HDMI-HDMI and no issues since

    Same problem
Just installed 2 - EVGA GTX970 (SLI'd), a new EVGA platinum 1600 PSU.. in hopes of resolving the flicker.. can't type a email without loosing the mouse. Forget about trying to play a game.. requires constant flicking the mouse to keep the screen active.
Custom loaded EVGA (clean install). changed resolution from 640 all the way up. only have 60hz and 59hz
All new Display port cables. (2 new) 1 Belkin.. have new display to HDMI I can use. if needed but really don't think the issue is within the GPU / PSU / Cables ..
I'm thinking either the latest BIOS is corrupt or issues within Window7 pro 64bit.  flashed the bios a few weeks ago to 2601 (latest).. still the issue is there.

Originally ran the EVGA GTX780 (single GPU).. have 3 Asus 27in LED Monitors with 1ns refresh.
    Running
    ROG Maximus VII Hero
    Intel 4970
    Corsair Dominator DDR3
    Samsung 850 EVO pro 1tb (C:)
    3 - Seagate 1tb - 7200rpm HD (D: E: F:)
    1 - ASUS CD/DVD (G:)

Any ideas would greatly be appreciated.
one step away from wiping C: the reinstall either Win 7 64 or perish the thought Win 8.1... ? or pull the MB was looking at the Asus Sabertooth Mark S / Z97..?

Could possibly be a bad SLI bridge/finger. Does the flicker still occur with SLI disabled? Have you tried each card separately?

If your other card is doing the same thing then its either the software(drivers), monitor or cable. Try replacing the cable with an HDMI cable like you mentioned earlier and uninstall then clean install the drivers and in advanced settings uncheck everything except the actual graphics driver (first thing).

EDIT: You could also open a ticket with EVGA as there may be a solution like a card BIOS/firmware update. To do that go to http://www.evga.com/support/ticket/support.aspx. They should get back to you within an hour or two, maybe longer.

    yes. my thoughts too

the old card was working just fine.. then one day the flicker appeared.. I suspect our good friends at microsoft pushed a update.. normally I have to approve them..
    ..
Did the custom install, downloaded the latest EVGA.. plus did it again with the new installation CD that came with the new GPU.. switched both monitors / cables  and connected to different cards.. even all into Card B.. then all in Card A.. still the flicker is there.. have to write all my replies via my laptop being could never get the reply completed on the desktop.. would take a week.

only idea I have is to set BIOS to default, wipe C: then re-install windows . ROG MB drivers then EVGA drivers..  then step by step.. add in stuff.. wouldn't be too surprised if it didn't come from a Fry Cry 4 patch.. that created the corruption

I suggest you make a ticket with EVGA using the link below. It's possible they have a quick fix for you.
