Not going to get a discount, but nice try. If they let you step up, you aren't losing anything.

EVGA didn't do anything wrong. EVGA is not making the GPUs. We will have to wait how this story develops further. I hope Nvidia will compensate us 970 users for the false advertising that has been going on for some time.

I stepped up into a 970, So it doesn't show me as eligible. Its not often I have the funds for new computer components, so I need this graphics card to last me as long as it can. I was planning on adding another 970 for SLI, but that's probably not a good idea. If that means returning it and paying a little more for a 980, I'd rather return this and step up/switch to the 980.

Speak with EVGA directly. In another thread, if you use recent posts you will see it, a user has been able to get the card to utilize all 4gb of vram, exactly as it was designed. On the same thread, there is 2 screen shots of an nvidia rep responding to the issue at hand.

In the end, all 4gb are usable. The cards are amazing, and running 2 isn't going to cause you any issues. This is actually a non-issue in reality, as the card works as designed and they only outlined the information incorrectly.

There are tons of people throwing the phrase "if I had known, I wouldn't have spent the money on a 970, I would have just bought a 980" which I don't believe since people love over exaggerating. They would have bought the 970 all the same, because the 980 was hard to keep in Stock.
