hi there,

i have got a serious problem with my gtx780ti.
the card is connected to a lg 34" with display port cable. everything is running well except the monitor won't go to standy.
what happens? -> signal is going dark -> the monitor is going dark/grey -> on screen message that monitor is going to sleep soon -> sleep for about a second -> monitor is going grey again -> again the message and so on...

using the onchip intel hd graphics there is no such problem. what the hell?
i've tried a gtx780 and a gtx780ti - both do have this problem. is there any solution to this?

This sounds driver related as it will do it with both the 780 and the 780 ti but not on the onboard which will use another driver.  Download the latest drivers and install using the Advanced option.  There will be a box with 'perform clean install', make sure that it is checked.  If the problem persists, uninstall you graphics drivers and install driver version 337.88 using the same options.

    Erik, thanks for your reply.
But - I don't think it's driver related. My machine is running Win7 and OSX simultaneously and both os have the same problems. Win7 even got those clean install you mentioned.

Hmm, I'm also running an LG 34um95 via Display Port.

However, I'm running Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit, and SLI GTX 780 SC 6GB. I'm not having this problem.

Don't know what to tell you, unfortunately.

Haha I assure you I didn't! Lacking a power button, the first time connecting the monitor was a nail-biter >.<

"Dafuq?? Why isn't this thing working??"
*looks in the manual for a power button, discovers none*
"Well, let's try this joystick thingy..."
"Hey! I'm seeing THAT on the screen!"
*cycles the inputs to Display Port from the default HDMI setting*

    .....and done.

That's the extent of my fiddling with the UM95's menu. Have done no color adjustments or anything.

I did buy what (I think) is a better DP cable than that which came with the monitor. I needed a longer cable anyway.

*edit* However, I think I may have gotten very lucky with my monitor.....check out the thread over at OCN.

Lots of doom and gloom there, so can't say if my standards are low or theirs are stratospherically high!

yeah, i know similar threads, but will study that specific one.
my monitor seems to have acceptable lighting too - at least it is good enough for me.

btw: had switched the cable too... but that doesnt seem to be the problem.

This post is a year and a half old. You'd have a better response if you start a new thread.
