Yeah, I'm not sure what's up with my cards voltage adjustment. I've been looking around and can't seem to find anyone else that has voltage support with their Palit GTX580 3GB cards either. So either Palit went cheap and removed the software adjustable VRM's or it's a matter of it just needing an update to work with MSI AB.

Anyway, I've got some free time now and am going to do some Dirt 2, Stalker COP and Crysis Warhead

And thanks to AHowes for doing the 3D tests and 5760x1080 resolution tests saving me some time in having to do it myself

I'm very impressed with the results.
I'll give EVGA another month before I get myself 2 of the 3GB cards from somewhere, loving the Red of my 570's though =/

Anyways you should really update your Mods Rigs to show those off.

Fellow Palit 3x 3GB 580 + 3x 30" owner here. I just switched from a Quad-6970 setup. I remember reading somewhere that Palit has released or will be releasing voltage controls for their non-reference designed PCB cards. These include all the Palit/Gainward 570/580 series. If I recall correctly, you have to do it through their software as there is some proprietary communications involved and apps like Afterburner won't work. I'll have to try and hunt down where I read that.

On another note, I've been conversing with EK about producing water blocks for these new non-reference PCB's. They said it's almost guaranteed, ETA 4-8 weeks.

BTW 3GB  friggin' rocks. I've had Heaven 2.1 up to 2800MB VRAM usage with 8x AA and max Tesselation.

I'm also going to be doing some benchmarks which can be located over at [H]: http://www.hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1573598&page=22

Interesting info.. Post up your results in that Heaven Bench 580 thread http://forums.evga.com/tm.aspx?m=833786

There was a guy in that thread that requested i'd so a max heaven bench at 6120x1080 and i could not max all the settings out cause of the limited 1.5MBs on the cards..  Try the same and post your results!

Just did a quick run with no overclocks (not even on CPU) and did a 140 fps. Even with only TRI-SLI I was CPU limited. Going to have to bump up the CPU and try again.

I've looked everywhere and haven't been able to turn up anything regarding voltage control on these cards yet. Not that they really "need" it as 3 of these in SLI at 850/1700/4200 is pretty much overkill for just about anything, but it's still nice to have that option if I wanted to.

BTW....nice stock heatsink you've got on your CPU.....

Get that SS mounted ASAP man, you're CPU will love you for it

Looking at the cutting edge of extra VRAM in these benchmarks, this could inspire a GTX 570 2560mb vanilla version @ $399.99.   I predict that potential card as a hot seller.

wonder why the mods moved this to general hardware, 3GB GTX 580 fits the the 500 series sub forum I would think

anyway nice results on Stalker COP crap, and yea that video ram will go way up with mods, I can run the game smooth on my GTX 260 at 1920x1080 with the stock game, but when I added the texture pack it stuttered like crazy so I know it used alot of vram but it looked so much better.

I use this one here for all the stalker games, NMC's are the best, he did one for Fallout 3 as well. http://www.fileplanet.com...Graphics-Pack-Mod-v1.0

It's a Palit, not a Palit vs EVGA is my guess

perhaps evga is jelous that Palit has a 3GB GTX 580 and they don't

the funny thing is according to this guys thread evga doesn't think a 3GB Card is need for a 3 screen setup, and this review that you are doing is proof that it does

Yeah that is odd. This thread is about 500 series cards so I'm not sure why it can't stay in the 500 series section.

O the review is very welcome here.  Especially to the surround users.  Not enough review sites are doing these benchmarks.  Thanks for taking the time.  I'm just hoping that the 590 will be offered in a 6gb variant by someone.  Making a card targeted towards 2d/3d surround with 1.5/gpu of memory seems somewhat ignorant.

What's insulting is that after all my time invested in this (if you're a parent with a newborn you know how precious free time is) it's moved off to a sub forum that hardly anyone reads or visits.

Not saying it was you btw.....I have my suspicions to what mod did it and is clearly a slap in my face.....

Actually this post shows how very adequate 1.5 GB (corrected) of memory is for the mainstream if you read it correctly.  The price point ratio is the expected brilliance of nVidia Marketing which keeps them top dog in the GPU arena.

The GTX Dual Card 590 with double ram would be 5120 (1280X4)

I would Too love a 2GB GTX 570 that be awesome, cause I just have a feeling 1.28GB isn't going to cut it on future games even on a single screen at 1920x1080 especially since I love to use Texture Mods.

I get the distinct feeling that my 3GB review isn't welcome here.

Crap, how can you say that?  I gave you a BR for your review.  I don't know who moved it here, but there is no reason to assume anything other than someone thought it was better to have it here.  Also no reason to be insulting.

What's insulting is that after all my time invested in this (if you're a parent with a newborn you know how precious free time is) it's moved off to a sub forum that hardly anyone reads or visits.

Not saying it was you btw.....I have my suspicions to what mod did it and is clearly a slap in my face.....

+2  I have to agree. There was no reason posted in the thread at all, like many of the MODs do.

Those who abuse power, are nothing but scumbags!
The challenge of power is how to use it and not abuse it. When you abuse it, it reverses on you and it hurts you.The abuse of power that seems to create the most unhappiness is when a person uses personal power to get ahead without regards to the welfare of others, people are obsessed with it. You can take a nice person and turn them into a slob, into an insane being, craving power, destroying anything that stands in their way.

1.5 meg? LOL,

Well, 3gb is not optimized for the mainstream and 1.5gb has been attested above perfect for 1920X1080 or 1920X1200 and below

give Grand Theft Auto 4 a try Crap, I know that game is a video ram hogg as well especially because of the draw distance.

err...the 1.5 meg was as a poke at you. 1.5 meg is 1 megabyte. 1024 megabytes = 1 gigabyte. What you meant to type is 1.5 gig or 1.5 GB

Core i7 3770K // R9 Fury + Eyefinity // EVGA Z77 FTW // 8GB (2x4GB) G.Skill 1600Mhz DDR3 // Ultra X3 1000w PSU
