Hi, Just installed my new 980ti Hybrid and I'm loving it.

I'm a little confused regarding the fan curve. I removed the old GTX680 and the old fan curve is still on.

For Hybrid cards what should I do? Should I disable fan curve and let the the Nvidia drivers do the work? Does the fan curve even work for Hybrid cards?

Thanks

I still have my custom fan profile set, as far as I know it still works. Probably no harm in disabling it and trying the default one and just switch it back if you aren't happy?

Won't be any harm in leaving it on really.  The fan curve will only apply to the fan on the PCB side of things that is cooling the card, not the radiator fan.

In fact you could probably adjust your fan curve for even quieter results now.

    Thanks for the feedback guys!
Do you guys mind sharing the your fan curve? I'm looking for the safest/quiet settings :)

My Hybrid doesn't appear to exist yet even after having paid for one ;)

    A 1:1 ratio would probably suit you fine to start with ie : 30degrees : 30%, 40deg : 40%, 50 deg: 50% etc.

    Adjust accordingly for room temperature.

I just installed a 980Ti with hybrid cooler yesterday, myself, and I was also curious about this.

After a fresh install of Precision, it struck me that the fan on the cooler is tied to the sensor on the GPU specifically. But the heat it is dissipating isn't from the GPU anymore, but the other components that aren't being monitored. The GPU never seems to get hotter than 45 °C under load for me, but it makes me nervous that the other components on the board are getting far hotter and there's no way to measure that. So if the GPU is at 45 °C, is it possible that the other components are much hotter?

Should the default fan operation with the hybrid kit work out alright? Or is there a risk of the other components overheating because Precision only ever measures the heat of the GPU?

Specs: x79 Sabertooth ASUS mobo, Intel i7 3930K CPU, 64 GB RAM, GTX 1080 Ti SC2 Hybrid GPU, 512 Samsung SSD, 2 TB WD HDD, Sound Blaster Z Soundcard, Corsair tx850W PSU.

That's a valid concern. I would also like to know.

Yes it is fine, even with a very low RPM fanspeed, the VRM and memory are able to be dissipated.

So  when overclocking the memory if it doesn't crash it's alright I guess.
