That is one very sexy card, but I am also with the ladder crowd. Waiting for GM200. Wonder if there will be a classy version of the big maxwell as well. At any rate, I don't even qualify for the pre-order. I've never bought a dedicated GPU.

I'm not going to wait for big Maxwell, for my needs this 980 KingPin is ideally-efficient overkill, would rather see the 20nm/16nm die shrink (if that ever happens) before jumping into a more powerful GPU. That gunmetal shroud on the KingPin will match nicely with a CaseLabs gunmetal and white interior and the magnificent Asus X99 WS gray and black E-ATX board oh my. Will feel much more comfortable when EK can confirm producing an EVGA logo type block for the KingPin 980 using the new feed from top center design, not the old design on the standard 980 HC. Certain they will produce the standard blocks, but the EVGA LOGO single slot block from EK is so much more beautiful. Whether its rotated 45degrees or not, won't show too much through the E V G A plexi view, but would be cool if they did rotate it, like the Gigabyte and MSI recent blocks. Derick and Luc, please make it so.

I'm concerned about the vram, I'll be going from a 6GB Titan to a 4GB 980 Kingpin. Unless it comes with 8GB of vram.

They have never allowed a step to Classified or k|ngp|n cards. One could wish though. Usually it is only reference PCB. It would be awesome if they allowed Classified users to step up to K|ngp|n cards, but I really hope they don't so I get a chance to grab a few while everyone else sells their Classifieds, lol.
