It means they haven't finalized what the final promised specs with the stock cooler and a greenlit BIOS will be. This really should not concern people too much, we all saw how the hydrocopper was being bottlenecked by the TDP limits on the stock BIOS.

Yup anything over 500 US Dollars They Telephone you and make sure you are who you say you are. I had to verify my e-mail Address Tele number and something else.

Finally after seeing the specs of this card, I am well-content with my purchase of the 980 Classified on NewEgg which I got for $640. The Kingpin is basically the same as the Classified just with a black-plate and single-slot ports configuration. If I didn't buy this Classified last week for $640 price, I still probably wouldn't buy the Kingpin, even though it has a single-slot ports configuration, because it doesn't have Displayport, only miniDisplayports which have a smaller bandwidth. The only thing I like about this KPE is that it has a backplate and single-slot ports configuration. $750 is a good price though, definitely better than pricing between 780TI classified and the KPE which I actually bought from EVGA directly.

Seriously??? Maybe EVGA should just STOP the step up program? How lame would that be? I just don't get it................
I say that before, I payed 780 Classified and after that 780Ti KP full price for both, I didn't ask for step-up because reference cards are not interesting for me but same as reference cards are not interesting for us and people who bought them should stop to ask for step-up on custom models. If waterblock is not compatible, and if clock is same than for people with waterblock and normal Classy is OK. Normal Classy have baseplate too, only need backplate... I think from side of normal customers Classified is not big difference, but 980 KP worth price difference because nice package, backplates and improvements on VRM probably. Price is OK. But EVGA could tomorrow to launch card with different number with 50-60MHz higher clock.

Pre-ordered cars that haven't even made it to the manufacturing line? I know Carroll Shelby sold his first production car when the big comeback was happening for Mustang, for six hundred thousand dollars, and hadn't even drafted a model of an idea for what could possibly come out. These are just bios numbers here. This isn't the 970. This isn't even related to anything the 970 is/was/or could be.

I was wondering if that was it but I guess we'll wait and see and not get our hopes up. I'm not sure the price would be much lower even with those things left out since it's the Kingpin model and how close it already is to the classy price.

It's probably due to poor cables and many of them have one pin too much electrically wired which could damage hardware. With my Swift and Sapphire 295X2, I had to buy an Accell cable and it works very fine, over 120 Hz for some reason is impossible on that display with AMD card (the same behaviour can be seen with my Ares III which has normal DP, so it's an AMD or compatibility issue). At first I had a poor miniDP cable and couldn't get over 60 Hz. Hope this helps...

Rog swift works fine with mini dp. Just need a mini dp to display port cable. I bought a couple from big jungle retailer so I can use the swift with my laptops.
