I just talked to Chris at EVGA and was told that the Three Bios's on the GTX 980 Classified are similar to the ones that came on the 780 Classifieds (We will Still need to find some 3rd party modded Bios's), and that EVGA will release (eventually) the EVBot Firmware version update for the GTX 980 Classified. I would like to ask Jacob if we could get some more detailed Info on this?

I can confirm that the 2nd and 3rd BIOS options on the GTX 980 Classified does change the fan profile settings to a more aggressive profile. If you do want to change the BIOS on number 2 or 3 to a different 3rd party BIOS then you may, but please understand that this is not directly supported by EVGA. One example of a non-supported 3rd party BIOS is linked below. http://kingpincooling.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2977

Thanks for the info Chris, and definitely appreciate the New EVBot P37 Firmware that EVGA has released for the GTX 980 Classified! Won't take long to get the EVBot back to work again........ http://www.evga.com/articles/00521/

Thanks Chris, is that the same fan profile on both? No other changes like higher power limit?

Everyone pretty much knows the only way you're going to get "other" changes is to go to a 3rd party Bios (i.e., from Kingpincooling / Skyn3t / etc...) Just like it was accomplished with the EVGA GTX 780Ti Classifieds and Kingpin Editions, Which Like EVGA has stated "is not directly supported by EVGA".

It is always good practice to leave the "normal (selector switch 1)" bios alone, for anyone looking that hasn't owned a multi bios card.

Interesting, the labels next to BIOS switch say: -Normal -OC -LN2 The cooling is so effective, unbelievable. And quieter than standard ACX 2.0, makes sense, I guess, with bigger fans.

That's what I said when I first saw it, the pictures looked almost identical externally.

Is the information in this review inaccurate then? http://www.hardwareasylum...evga_gtx980_classified The 980 Classified comes with a stock hot-clocked image and secondary BIOS with a higher power target and extended overclocking performance.

So if I switch the BIOS settings on my three cards from Normal to OC or LN2 I will have a different fan profile? Do those fan profiles keep the fans running even when the GPU temp is below 60 deg? As it stands now I have to keep PrecisionX running all the time to keep my fans spinning. I don't like them sitting idle. Not in 3-way SLI on air. I want them working keeping my cards as cool as possible. They really heat up in 3-way SLI. Well ... two of them do. The bottom card is always cool.

Yes. I was doing the same thing before I switched my setting. It'll keep your cards cooler without PX running all the time. I switched mine to LN2, but sounds like the number 2 position does the same thing.

Hi guys I need help with the Classified bios. The "normal" bios fans are supposed to be turned off until they hit 60 degrees. By mistake I flashed my normal bios without making a back-up. (because my fans dont idle) could someone link me the default normal bios please. Thanks in advance.

I have the older version "04G-P4- 2988-KR" thanks. Would it be possible to link all 3 bios's "normal, oc, LN2" I would be most grateful. I think i have to RMA due to a bit of rattle in a fan and I was worried it would not be accepted if a bios profile was wrong. Thanks again.

Thank you very much really appreciate your assistance on this. I think either the oc or Ln2 is the correct default but not sure. If you could link me all 3 bios's that would guarantee all 3 correct. Many many thanks.

I have had some issue I have a new 3988 GTX 980 classified. I have tried the LN2 bios from the kingpin forum also followed all the direction. The card will boot no issue in safe mode but after I load the drivers in normal mode it come up for 1 or 2 seconds the display drive fail and screen blanks in and out. Also I flashed the OC bios with the Ln2 bios, it took just fine, but when I tried to flask it back it said the version of flash was old. so I got the newest flash and it will not see the card with the ln2 bios. (HELP).
