So i recently built a new PC and installed EVGA's GTX 980 ACX 2.0 model into it after reading some pretty good reviews about it. About 2 days ago i noticed that the GPU would run 37-40° C when idling. Prior to purchasing the model I read multiple reviews that stated that it should be running at 34° C. Should I be concerned or is this supposed to be normal? If not, any ideas or methods i should take into fixing it?

34-40C is perfectly normal depending on your room temp.

I would not stress over the temp, it could idle at 60C and be okay forever. 3C is really nothing for these cards and everyone's case and room temp etc.

Need to know your ambient temp! the temp surrounding your box, clearly if the outside temp is 40 Degrees you are not going to have your PC components less than that with the exception of refrigerated cooling in your PC. Now that would be worth seeing

Stick it in one of those walk in freezers and see it cool itself nicely.
