i have two gtx 970's
1 ssc (p/n: 04g-p4-3975-kr)
1 sc (p/n: 40g-p4-2974-kr)
picked up the second (the sc one) as i wanted to sli to get more performance comared to getting an new card at double the price, NVCP and GPU-Z are both recognising both cards but when i go to set up sli in NVCP it is greyed out, i have tryed multiple sli bridges and swapping them around but to no luck, any insight into how this can be fixed would be great :)

thankyou for the help but i would like a stable way to do it as i have looked this method up and in alot of the cases they have been seeing worse results than the single card on its own

You'll need to exchange one of the cards to match the other. EVGA should be able to help you out with that... http://www.evga.com/about/contactus/

Call back and speak to someone else. You could also return the card and buy a different matching model.

i will try and call them again tomorrow as the local line will now be closed and cannot return either cards for a change of part no as the only cards the retailer have left are the same as the second part number, but will not be able to return the first one as it was over a year ago it was purchased
