Hi Everyone,

I purchased a Geforce GTX 970 SSC from microcenter a few days ago and when I went to connect my DVI-Dual link cable from my Benq XL2411z monitor to the DVI port of the 970, the bios screen resolution is very small as well as the windows loading screen. It never displays the Windows 7 login screen. The benq monitor shows DVI signal not found and monitor goes to orange/sleep mode
So I try the HDMI cable from the Benq to the GPU and nothing shows up on the monitor, just a blue screen HDMI signal not found.

I tried a Display port to HDMI adapter i got from bestbuy and I connected the hdmi cable to the benq monitor then to the displayport adapter and into the display port of the 970 and it works fine. I am able to view the bios and windows 7 boots with no issues.

I tried DVI-VGA adapter and that works fine. I am able to view the bios perfectly.

I was thinking maybe the card is defective and drove 1hr back to microcenter and got a replacement. When I got the new card, the issue was the same.

I have a spare pc and plugged the card into that and it also appears to have same issues above. The other motherboard is a GA-M57sli-S4. I used a single link dvi cable and it still shows the same issues. Both dual and single dvi cables did not make any difference. I used a Samsung 731B 17 inch with a DVI cable but this time its a DVI-I single link and the monitor resolution is not correct. VGA works fine on the 17inch.

I am using a OCZ 600w power supply and connected both 6 and 8 pin power connectors to the card.
Motherboard- Gigabyte GA-Z87X-UD3H
GTX 970 SSC 04G-P4-3975-KR
970 BIOS version: 84.04.36.00.72
CPU- Intel i7 4770 non k
16GB ram Gskill
Windows 7 pro 64bit

Pictures are nice to show. So here are snapshots I took

DVI-Dual link cable connected from Benq monitor to 970 direct with no adapters or anything. As you see, the bios screen is not full screen and I can't boot to windows.

HDMI cable connected from benq monitor to 970 direct with no adapters or anything.

VGA cable connected from benq monitor to vga to dvi adapter, also with the hdmi to display port to hdmi adapter.

With the DVI-Dual Link cable connected from the benq to 970 direct, the resolution is completely messed up and I can't sometimes even see any bios options

It seems like either the motherboard is a culprit or the 970 or I am just having bad luck lol. I had a 960 SSC 4GB and I had no issues with it.

Any ideas? Thank you.

Yup, I contacted them and level 1 and level 2 support team were unable to help further. They instructed me to contact Gigabyte and see if they have an idea.

I just downgraded by MB BIOS from latest beta to F9 and same issues.

I am going to wait until my 960 comes in the mail and try that card.

    Thank you for your help.

Update: My 960 SSC arrived in the mail and all ports are working fine including DVI and HDMI. Seems like a ongoing issue with 970 cards. I will be waiting for nvidias next gpu lineup.
    Thanks everyone for your help.
