Looking to get my 1st custom loop, but I'm having trouble finding a water block for my EVGA GTX 970.

Would this block be compatible with it?  http://www.ekwb.com/shop/ek-fc970-gtx-wf3-nickel.html

The exact card model is 04G-P4-2978-KR

Isn't the PCB longer on the FTW+ compared to the regular FTW?

How'd you guys pull that one off?

Even if the pcb is longer the block will most likely screw on the card at the same mounting points.

Sorry for asking, I'm a little new to water cooling, but would the block still cover all the same VRM's and everything, even with a longer PCB?

I have a FTW now, but I plan on getting the new block, and then getting a FTW +

It will be a full cover block so yes it will cover the VRM's and memory

So why are the PCB's different between the 2 cards? Wouldn't the block not cover the full FTW + if it was made for the FTW?

You'll have to ask EVGA what's different on them. The + from the looks of it looks like a better card compared to the standard FTW. Why do you want to watercool a 970? Doesn't it run cool enough for you?

The blocks for FTW and FTW+ are relased now at EKWB-Shop .... is it possible to use the original backplate from FTW+ with such a waterblock ?

    Gruselguste,

You beat me to the same question there.  I was pricing my entire loop and with everything I am in the neighborhood of $800 shipped.  Not a problem if we have to use EK blocks, but I do like the EVGA version.

Sorry not to jump the post but I have 980 FTW and see there is no full water blocks.. I was going to get EK thermosphere.. Question is on 970 I see you can use reference cooler on both models.. What makes a reference cooler not work on 980 FTW?

That will have to be confirmed by a customer. The original backplate might fit but you might have to provide different screws in terms of length and they will have to respect the thread size of the block.

The PCB used for the 980 FTW isn't a reference one so the reference block won't fit on it.

    Hi everyone!

I have a bad news for some of you.  We previously had the 04G-P4-3975 970 SSC and the 04G-P4-3978 FTW+ as compatible GPU for the 970ACX Waterblock but with the detailed pictures of ericleeee30 we have to announce that those 2 GPU won't be compatible.

When we created the block, we weren't able to have detailed images of those new PCB from EVGA and our first visual information of them were from reviews of the card from JayzTwoCents.

I'm really extremely sorry about this situation.  We will update the CoolingConfigurator to remove those 2 models from the compatibility list.

    Thanks

Will you make a water block for this card?

Is there any update on this?  Has there been enough demand for a full water block for EVGA GeForce GTX 970 FTW+ ACX 2.0+ (04G-P4-3978-KR) to build one? I know I would purchase couple of them.

Like I previously said, we don't have any future plans for a revision of the block.

I would be willing to buy 2 of them. I have looked and looked for a block for these 970 FTWs and I just cant find one. What crazy is I work in a metal fabrication shop, but we build balcony rails and fence panels, not high end precession stuff like this. I dont see the idiots at my shop able to pull this one off. I do know of a few other pretty "high end Fab Shops" . How would I go about getting the specs to have something like a 970 block built??? I could more then likely buy 2 new 980s with ready made blocks for the same money!! LOL

I cant believe there is no block for this card, That stinks!!

Another vote for a block to work with the 970 FTW+ GAMING ACX 2.0+ GPU.  Just sold my GTX 580 Hydro Coppers (SLI) and grabbed the 970 for better compatibility with the Oculus Rift.   Its kind of a temporary card, as I am waiting for the new Pascal series cards to release, but until then would live to get a block on this thing. Spoiled after having a fully liquid cooled system for years.  That GPU fan, as good as it is for air, is still waaay to loud for my likes.  Configurator still shows now plans for blocks with that card (04G-P4-3978).

"Democracy is not freedom. Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to eat for lunch. Freedom comes from the recognition of certain rights which may not be taken, not even by a 99% vote. Those rights are spelled out in the Bill of Rights and in our Constitution. Voters and politicians alike would do well to take a look at the rights we each hold, which must never be chipped away by the whim of the majority."
