I just got an EVGA GeForce GTX 970 Superclocked ACX 2.0 (Model #: 04G-P4-2974-KR) and have been hearing that there are throttling issues with the 970 series. I was wondering if my card is affected as well and if I'm on the latest bios update? I've also seen some stuff about a modded bios, would that be of any benefit to my card? Any help would be appreciated.

BIOS Version: 84.04.2F.00.70

Welcome to the forum. Given what you've told us uh...we have no idea what your GPU is doing under load.  All 700/900 series GPUs with boost 2.0  can and will throttle under certain conditions of load, and temperature. It's how they are designed to operate.

Thanks for being so welcoming! Sorry I haven't actually tried any games yet. I just wanted to know if this particular model is known to have throttling issues? Also, do I have the latest firmware BIOS?

If the card will throttle unless it's under high load. This saves electricity and keeps the card cooler which makes the fans quieter. As long as it's not throttling when it's at 100% load than its good.

I'm not actually familiar with a "bios" update for the cards. However, the drivers are avaliable on NVIDEAS website though. If you download the NVIDEA control panel it should come with another tool with escapes me now but it basically tells you when the driver is out of date and reminds you to download it among its other features.
