Hi all,

I recently built a new system with a GTX 970 ACX2.0 and wanted to see if the temps I'm getting are 'normal' I've been running my fans at 10% in idle and the card seems to sit at around 35-40 degrees with it never dropping below 35, is that about right?

In game, depending on the game, it'll quick jump to around 65 and usually be around 70degrees when playing something new e.g. Alien Isolation on Ultra settings. For games like Grid Autosport it's around 65 and doesn't seem to rise too much more... fans are at about 50-60%... any higher than this and they are really loud.

Do these temps seem about right, or slightly hot?

Thanks!

Those temperatures are normal, nothing to worry about.

Those temperatures are fairly normal. The ACX coolers are really benefited by the overall airflow in your case, so if you take a look at your cable management, and make sure you have some good push and pull going with the other fans to get that air flowing through the case constantly, you may even see the temps drop. You can also set a custom fan curve to run the fans a bit higher at idle if you want. All up to you, but even as it is there is no reason to worry.

My cable management is good i'd say, everything is out the way and all the components have plenty of room inside, I've turned my front and back fans up a bit to bring down the temp inside the case and my mobo reading at idle is around 33 with CPU reading of 39 which seems ok?

I've notched the idle fan speeds upto 20% and the gpu is sitting at around 36 now. I'd be really interested is someone could suggest (or post screenshots) of an ideal fan curve profile for this card. I'm unsure if what I have set is correct/optimal.

My GPU temps are about 33°C during idle with 30% fan speed and go up to about 72°C with fan speeds at about 60%. My fan curve is:

    30% @ 40°C or below
    40% @ 50°C
    50% @ 60°C
    60% @ 70°C
    70% @ 80°C or above

My 970 ACX 2.0 idles at 28-30 C and never gets over 60C. It resides in a HAF X case. I play games with Vsync on adaptive. No noticeable coil whine. Very happy with the card!

Do you find your fans at 60% are pretty loud? I find it pretty distracting if I don't have my speakers on quite high to drown it out..

Idle temps around 33-35c wile browsing internet. Idle CPU 25-30c :)
    Playing 4K UHD 2160P 100mbit video using hardware/gpu 47c gpu
    70-73C while gaming ACU
    Highest recorded temp 75c.

    Fancurve in EVGA PrecisionX:
Idle 0-45c 10% fan, Really quiet, not noticable.
50c 20% fan, still very quiet, hardly noticable
60c 30% fan, quiet but noticable
65c 35% fan, lightly noticable but not disturbing
70c 40% fan, clearly noticable but not disturbing
73c 50% fan, very noticable, ok but a bit disturbing
75c 60% fan, a bit disturbing (never reaches this high)
    78c 70% fan, extremely disturbing.

I prefer that fan speed never goes above 50% during gaming as its to disturbing.

Setting a more agressive fancurve would probably lower the temps a few c but nothing to care about, i prefer quiet before extremely cool.

Wouldn't worry unless card goes above 80c

The 9XX series runs much cooler and my fans never rev very high at all even when folding at home which is very GPU demanding.

Will rather depend on what case and fans you have . I have a Coolermaster Cosmos Ultra II , my idle temp is around 34-35 C , max temp 60 C @45 % fan speed , even when heavily overclocked ( GTX 970 FTW with Back plate ) my cpu is cooled by Corsair H105 , so air flow through case is very good .

Ok... Well I have 2 gtx 970 ftw in sli and I am hitting temps of 83 on one of my cards... I am going to add 2 80mm fans on the bot of my case to see if it helps. But how hot should I let my card get? They are in a Node 804 micro atx case.

Pretty much my temps are on par with everyone here. Idle around 29C and max hovers around 70-74C with couple hours of gaming (ambient temp typically around 68-74F depending on how long I have been gaming). I don't have my fan curve on-hand but I know I let the fans sit at 0 RPM until 75C. Have a single GTX 970 FTW ("reference" - (04G-P4-2977-KR)) ACX 2.0. My card is slightly OC'd using Precision X 16 (GPU clock offset +35 Mhz and MEM clock offset +350 Mhz).

My hardware lives in a all-steel 4U chassis with 3x120mm front fans, 3x120mm fans in the middle and 2x120mm fans at the rear so I don't have air-flow issues. Just stating some specifics so others get a better idea about my set-up in regards to my temps.

    i run flat 50% up to 50c then its a 1:1 ratio
the noise doesnt bother me much, and the card very rarely gets higher than 70c

See running a single card I hit max on 60 degrees but when I add the second card, the top cards goes up to about 77 degrees (under load) now that I have added the extra fans at the bot of the case. But still that is my top gpu fan at 100%. So loud... not happy right now. They are stacked, I plan on water cooling the gpu as soon as ek release the waterblocks (and before anyone says they have waterblocks for the 970 NON CURRENTLY FIT THE Evga 970 ftw acx cooler) but I have to do with what I have right now. Picture below is before I added the fans on bot and top.
