Can secure boot be left on when installing the new card? It should start right up? Or do I need to disable it? I have a brand new HP Phoenix custom build coming soon. So not sure how this secure boot thing works when upgrading. I know the new card will be UEFI compliant and suppose to work with secure boot yes?

    Hi FattysGoneWild,

You may need to disable secure boot prior to installing the graphics card or you might not be able to get any video at all. For details on how to do so, you would be able to visit FAQ #59421.

Thanks. I did come across that faq. I know the machine is a OEM. OEM or not. Even with a newer system. Say a custom build you put together yourself. You just pop the card in with secure boot on. Not having to do any thing and it should boot right?

On a custom built system, you would not need to go through that process unless it was custom built PC from a boutique dealer and they set it up that way purposefully.  It isn't very likely though.

No changes to secure boot would be need to made when building a system yourself.
