I have a new Windows 10 build with an EVGA GTX 950 SC+ which I have concerns about.
GPU-Z is reporting the clock rate at around 1450mhz when the specs for the boost are 1355mhz.  I have not run any overclocking and it is stable during 3dMark13 and Unigine Heaven.  Not sure if this is just an error in reporting or if the bios is incorrect on the card.

The other issue is that I get a notification that the display driver has stopped responding and was recovered.  This mainly occurs upon waking from sleep, but has happened after exiting Chrome as well.  Switching to performance mode or adaptive power management in the Nvidia control panel does not make much difference.

This is the hardware I am working with:
2x4Gb G. Skill Ares 1600
i3-3170
Gigabyte B85 - Phoenix WiFi
Seasonic S12ii Bronze 520w (the dummy load is active in bios since it does not officially support the low power state for the Haswell processors)

GPU Boost 2.0 will clock the card as fast as it can while remaining steady; normally that will be the reference clockspeed, but sometimes you win the silicon lottery and it will be much higher. It looks like you got a really good card, congrats!

The driver crash is a different problem. Normally, that can be fixed by running DDU in safe mode, and then reinstalling drivers. If that doesn't work, try the card in a different computer running either Windows 7 or 8; if it's still crashing, give EVGA a call. If it doesn't crash there, you may have another problem with your computer. It could be an issue with that power supply.

I wasn't as concerned with the clock speed since the base speed is correct and it is just the boost that runs higher than the stated specs. It holds right around 72 C under load and hasn't crashed from games or benchmarks.

The driver crash has only happened once or twice in a day, but the system is also less than a week old. There are only two drivers that support the GTX 950 at this time. I had it show up with both, EVGA only has the older version listed for my card in the downloads section.

The other machine I have is a workstation with Windows 7 and a Quadro card. I don't know how wise it would be to put the GeForce card in it instead for testing unless I fully remove the Quadro drivers first. The event log gives no specifics on the driver crash unfortunately.

The power supply shows conflicting information regarding if it is Haswell ready or not. I run the dummy load to be safe either way. I wouldn't think that would have much bearing on he GPU though.

What driver are you currently running?

I was at 355.69 from EVGA link then Experience updated to 355.98. I ran DDU before posting and went back to 355.59. It has shown up on both driver versions. I have not done a new install with just the graphics driver and physx though.

Might want to try driver 356.04 to see if it helps resolve your display driver has stopped responding error.
