So my 780Ti Dual Classi HydroCoppers arrived today...

I was all excited and was mildly confused as to the weight of the box. Must be extras I though.

I s*** bricks when I opened the box. I've NEVER seen a card that massive in my entire life!
I've got a huge case with tons of room but these things make the spacious interior look as cramped as the inside of a cellphone.

They fit but I'm more concerned about the weight of these behemoths. They're like 3lbs each.
I'm actually worried about mounting these things on my motherboard because they're so heavy,
I feel they'll wrench the whole PCIe slot right off!

What do you guys do to secure their installation? Suspend them using string or zip ties?

Or against my better judgement, are they actually safe to mount without additional support?

When the two screws on the PCIe bracket are screwed in, there is not as much weight on the PCIe slots as you may think.  You may need two people when installing though, make sure you hold it up with your hand while screwing in the bracket this is when most the pressure would be on the slot before the bracket is screwed in.
Also be careful with how much pressure you put on the cards when changing fittings, tubes, or compressions.  I'm usually most worried about the slots when I'm doing compressions its hard not to put too much pressure on it and get the compressions tight at the same time.

Think of it this way sponge man, hundreds of people before you have used these cards... Now, Google, "my 780 Classified ripped my PCI slot off" and you will see it hasn't been a problem, lol. Yes, they are extremely heavy, and beastly cards. They are not going to rip you PCI slots off, lol. Now, install that thing and game on.

Just checking.  Only asking because you seem surprised by the weight the water block adds.  You know that you must install a water cooling system to run the cards right?

Yes, I already have a full loop in the rig, I'm simply adding these cards into it.
