Alright guys im just sitting here debating with myself whether to pickup/upgrade to a 770 instead of getting a PS4, I currently have a SC 570HD Card which I have had for 2yrs now & apart from the loud "Jet" noise I get from playing games Maxed out it is a great card that I have no issues with it (even when I OC'd it to 950/2000/1800) clocks & thats why Im posting here as EVGA are my Brand of Choice for GPU's ,What I am getting at is ,if I spend the 300+ quid on a 770 ACX would I feel I would be getting my monies worth in-terms of coming from a 570 or should I just wait for the 800 Series ,But also if I got a 770 & wanted to SLI it with my 570 what PSU would I need as I currently have a Corsair 650W TX V2 ?? GIGABYTE 99XA UD3 MOBO My PC spec is AMD 1100T @ 3.3Ghz 8GB DDR3 RAM 3x 1TB HDD'S

Hi Toxteth, My personal opinion here is the 770 is a good choice for an upgrade it is at least 35% better than the 570SC card it will also run quieter and cooler than the 570's do my advice, grab the 770 and install precision X then get some oc info from other users and SC that 770 yourself, you will get some stellar results im sure, here is a quick reference 570 vs 770 comparison to help you make your choice. www.gpuboss.com/gpus/geforce-gtx-770-vs-geforce-gtx-570

Ditto. I upgraded from a 570 to a 770 and was SO impressed with the quality/value of the upgrade, I added a second 770 for SLI (basically committing to skipping the 800 series). Great bang for your $.

Thanks for The Replies & Link Doesn't VRAM only matter in Dual Monitor setups though ? I currently only game on my 42in 3D TV ,but will be looking for a Hi Res monitor at some point. EDIT for those that that Replied what PSU would I need if I wanted to run both a 570 & 770 ??

EDIT for those that that Replied what PSU would I need if I wanted to run both a 570 & 770 ?? No the vram is needed for single too, cause thier is games out thier that go over 2GB VRAM at 1920x1080, I'm not saying that 1920x1080 will use the whole 4GB, but it will prevent stuttering in games that go over 2GB. also if you plan to get a 2560x1440 or 2560x1600 display later thats even more reason to get the 4GB You also have to account for higher AA usage, 8Xaa / 16xaa, and if you want to run texture pack mods in games as well. This is all my opinion though of course, I'm sure others will argue with me that more then 2GB isn't needed for 1080p....

lol well $234 at todays Rate but thanks for that Link It looks like I could get a 4GB ACX version for about 300 quid as long as theres no Shipping charges, but it would mean my 570 would be redundant as it only has 1.28gb VRAM so i'll have to sell it

You can probably sell the GTX 570 for around $125 so thats roughly 90 - 95 quid I think? It is unfortunate that computer hardware loses value overtime, everyone takes a loss when they do upgrades. also the 570 won't be completely useless, You can use it for a folding@home card or dedicated physx card if your motherboard has another 16x PCI-E slot

Agreed with Nite!!! I can understand it expensive for single card with 4GB!! I saw your mobo have two PCI-E slot maybe you can buy two GTX770 SC ACX 2GB to run SLi!! I mean if you buy one GPU this month and then save up money for next month!!! That what I did bought two GTX 770 SC ACX!!! But it upto you prefer one card with 4Gb!!!!

DrThodt AFAIK > 2GB VRAM will do nothing for you unless it's an old game on a high-res setup. If you think 4GB is going to help your 770 increase fps in Crysis 3 check the benchmarks... if you think 4GB is going to help your 770 increase fps in Crysis 3 @ 1600p... DEFINITELY check the benchmarks. I'm not talking about framerate performance, I'm talking about stuttering due to lack of vram in games that have High Res textures. If you run for example 8X AA level and 1080p on a 4GB, and and try to run the same 8X AA and resolution on a 2GB card you WILL stutter in certain games. I know what I'm talking about, I use to have a 1.28GB GTX 570 back in the day and got it at launch, and then got the 2.56GB card when it was available, and I was pushing 2.3GB vram in some later games before I upgraded to my 4GB 770

I just upgraded from a 560 Ti to a 770 and I'm getting MUCH better performance in recently released games. Admittedly I'm not playing TOO many newer games and my 560 TI was getting 60 fps in games from 1+ years ago... But in the few newer games it proved to be a very nice upgrade! And I imagine I will find more newer more intensive games before I decide to upgrade again. Side note. Having more GPU horsepower is also nice when playing a poorly optimized game like Firefall. lol xD

Just put it this way, even AMD HD7870/GTX660Ti's are better than the 570. Not only that you'll be getting cooler running, lower power consumption also. _Nite_ I wen't from a 570 to 770 and love it, yes its worth the money, just be sure to get the 4GB one not the 2GB I would've said the same thing sometime ago (and you can find my post saying this) but the the GK104 will run out of steam and its shown that its pretty poor in its ability to actually utilize the extra VRAM. Some people are even debating about the Titan's effective use of all 6GB of VRAM, before the GPU takes a nosedive.

Honestly, I would buy a GTX 680 Classified for between $300 and $400 USD off of eBay and you'll have something better than a reference GTX 770. MUCH less than 400 quid (most sellers ship international for not too much extra).

a 770 has a higher TDP than the 570. no way would I go sli 770 with a 650 watt psu. it will work but with any real overclocking on the cpu and gpus, you will be pushing the 650 psu pretty hard. and going 770 sli with an AMD 1100 X6 is a laughable waste of gpu power especially at stock cpu speeds.

Yea its only a 30w difference, 200w vs 230w a 650w will handle 2 x 770 fine as long asy you don't do something stupid like run Furmark on it. That stress testor has been known to take the GPU's above the actual TDP level

_Nite_ trek554 a 770 has a higher TDP than the 570. no way would I go sli 770 with a 650 watt psu. it will work but with any real overclocking on the cpu and gpus, you will be pushing the 650 psu pretty hard. and going 770 sli with an AMD 1100 X6 is a laughable waste of gpu power especially at stock cpu speeds. Yea its only a 30w difference, 200w vs 230w a 650w will handle 2 x 770 fine as long asy you don't do something stupid like run Furmark on it. That stress testor has been known to take the GPU's above the actual TDP level at stock maybe but oc anything and he would be asking for trouble long term. and his cpu is not going to come remotely close to fully pushing 770 sli.

I would not run 2 680 myself on a 650 watter and they have a lower tdp than a 770. Minimum I would go is very high quality 750 watt

I would get 1 770 and a new CPU and motherboard. You will be CPU limited with 2 770s for sure.
