I recently upgraded my rig with the GTX750Ti FTW, and a Q9300... Main troubling issues are as follows:
1) OC is poor, only getting from the stock 2.5 GHz. to 3128 MHz. From what I'm finding on net, a P45 board with DDR3 is what to use to get anywhere on it.
2) Temps of cpu vary as much as 17c  core to core: (at 6% usage) one:46c, two:51c, three: 51c, Four: 37c... (last core jives w/PC health in bios)...Before you blame TIM, same readings with three applications, and AS-5 only dropped them all a couple degrees. Hyper 212 EVO w/2 fans. at 100% usage, all temps rise 7c... Odd, to me...core four drops as low as 26c at idle in 60F room...
Using either Core Temp, or PC Meter, readings are the same...
On the bright side, Card itself is awesome, compared to my GTS450....
Able to run Grid Autosport at Ultra settings, and getting butter smooth 65 fps At 1080....

What is the 750ti trouble you are posting about?

Everything you posted says CPU and has nothing to do with the video card. This is in the wrong section or extremely confusing. Can you provide clearer information as to what you are trying to get help with?

You don't mention what motherboard or ram you have or anything other than the Q9300 and 750Ti.

Look in sig, all hardware listed. Yes, this is probably wrong section... But wondering if that much temp variance is normal, and it's not tied to usage, as all 4 cores are being used roughly equally...

14c difference isn't normal, it should be like 5 to 7c difference.

That's what I was thinking, Sajin. Maybe I should send this one back to Newegg, try another. I really wouldn't mind so much, if it were only 5-7c. Another aspect that has me puzzled, 50c at idle with a 212 EVO with twin fans. (Idled at 37-39c with E8400). And stranger yet, it only hits 55-58-59-44c at 100% usage... Hottest card gets is 41c, (33c now)... Guess I should test at stock clock to see if temps are showing normal then, I OC'd from first boot. (I haven't optimized memory yet, either)...
Have tried settings most have used, ran at 845, and now cranked it up to 1107, no difference whatever.

Addendum: Evidently, the P43 board works better with a G0 Stepping Q6600, found one dirt cheap online...

Re: GTX 750 Ti, system issues... 2015/10/22 03:27:18 (permalink)
Installed Q6600.... Wow! What a difference!
Q9300: Best overclock I got from it was 3.0 GHz, ran high 50's at idle, high 60's at 100%.
Q6600: First OC is at 3456MHz, Low 40's at idle, high 50's at 100%... Not too shabby for a $20 Refurb!
Finally getting a decent Clock, and excellent gaming performance out of this rig. 65-70 FPS, at Ultra settings, on most of my racing games, Dirt 3 runs at 124 FPS....
Granted, this setup is far beyond overdue for upgrade. But I'm happy with it, for now..... I do plan an upgrade in a year, or two, to an i5 6600, or an i7 6700,  using a Gigabyte GA-Z170X-Gaming GT MoBo, 64 GB DDR4, (Hopefully EVGA). In a White Corsair 780T case....

I'm not going to be any help here, but it's good to you're happy with the upgrade.
I mean, specifically coming from the GTS450, because I still have one and I'm considering just going for the 750Ti FTW very soon.

I don't have as good a system for the rest of it though, but I'm betting it should still run graphics a lot smoother. It better... :P

Addendum: Now that I've lived with the Q6600 for almost a year, I have finally hit the gaming wall with this setup. The new Need For Speed game barely runs above high settings on it, and CPU is maxed, Video is at 98%... Time to jump to a Z170 board, and a new i series 6600... Gotta hand it to the ol' girl, I've made it quite far using the old architecture. 8 years is a pretty decent run, I'd say. Luckily, I have it pretty much ready for the upgrade, a mobo, cpu, & memory, will do the trick, as everything is transferring, hopefully, to a lightly modified, (Adding 2 more 5.25 bays), repainted C-70 case. I'm thinkin' on that build, will do a tribute to my 442, go White with Gold accents, leave the interior Black...
