It's Nvidia who has to answer, unfortunately , MSI, EVGA, PNY etc or Nvidia partners probably won't be able to fix it. They are just sell the product and provide warranty support. I'm counting on you Nvidia
Posting here is kinda pointless, you all need to start giving Nvidia feedback and bombard them with support messages and tickets. If everyone does it, maybe they listen. To bad not to many people got the x58 just like with the x79 since they are the highend expensive system. But I enjoy my highend system.

I'm also having problems resuming from sleep mode. When I do resume from sleep the display drivers crash which sometimes freezes my whole system forcing me to reboot, kind of a roll of the dice. My GTX 660s in sli are overclocked and are stable when gaming for hours but this problem is definitely caused by the OC as when they are at stock I have no problems resuming from sleep mode. Are crashing drivers just par for the course now or is it a sign of my rig about to melt down?

My posts were all concerning a GTX 670. As far as I know any 600 series card and certain x58 mobo's cause this issue.

@enigmaticvortex: Did you buy your 660's overclocked or are you overclocking them yourself? And do you have an x58 board?

Well I got my new 670 and just as I feared I am getting this issue..won't resume from S3 sleep. Pc reboots and brings me to the safe mode boot option indicating windows has crashed while trying to resume from Sleep mode.

I hear all the time on other boards about people touting EVGA's legendary support justifying the premium prices. Yet they are noticeably absent on this issue.  Pretty annoyed right now.

I ended up returning my 670 to newegg. I got a full refund which was awesome. In the RMA box I printed out the first couple pages of this forum to show I wasn't the only one having this issue and it was truly a defect with the 600 series cards. I tried hibernate for a week and was ready to rip my hair out waiting for my pc to come back into the OS when it only used to take seconds. I then bought a GTX 580 Classified in its place. Well aware the 580 uses more power, will get less frames, and costs almost the same as the 670 but having sleep mode is THAT important to me.

Your issue sounds different. The issue everyone here is describing you get NO video, not even a mouse courser.

Would hazard to guess this is a nVidia support issue and not a board manufacture problem here

Too bad the Nvidia forums are still down so we can't complain over there.

I wonder if the new GTX 660 (non-Ti) has this issue. It's chip code is different than the regular GK104.

Have seen others with sleep issues. Lets keep this alive so others can post their sleep gtx600 problems in here and the EVGA rep's, who were so active here back in May, can continue to pretend this does not exist.

Than I'll add one to the list, just before I had my gtx 670. I had a gtx 480 and I just started to put my computer in sleep mode. When I got my 670, no more sleep mode.

This thread has been very active over the past few months yet there has been no response from any EVGA employee since spring. If you say you are actually looking into it again I will give you the benefit of the doubt. I have since returned my GTX 670 and went to running a GTX 580 but if you would like me to run the program / script on the system I had the problems with I can do so.

I do have a question for you though, from your internal testing EVGA reps here have also experienced the same problem we all do with an x58 & GTX 680 or 670 card. Can you tell me, from your internal testing, if the GTX 660 (non Ti) also has this issue? I ask because it is a different GPU. Thank you.

Re:GTX 680 - problems resuming from S3 sleep 2012/10/04 13:42:13 (permalink)
Does anyone know if it is all evga x58 users, or just select ones that are having the issue?  I am currently looking to pick up a gtx 670, have an x58 board and just want to know if I am destined to lose sleep mode, or if it very likely it will happen.

Thanks,

660Ti with 306.23 wont resume correctly from sleep BUT only with the clocks modified. Stock clocks sleep/resume fine! Modded clocks can run for hours (even days) fine but the moment I sleep/resume with modded clocks the system is screwed till I reboot. (graphic corruption, driver failed errors, crash/freezes)

I am thinking that old issue with Nvidia drivers not setting the clocks right after a resume cycle has crept back in.

460 never had this issue.

Lets put it this way, after reading this entire thread I have yet to see even ONE x58 user get a GTX 600 series card to sleep.

Could this be a phoenix bios issue only?  Anyone have this issue with AMI and Award bios?   buddy has identicle specs as me but using the p6t oc palm from Asus with no issues, and that uses an AMI bios.  I have the same issues as most here, resume from s3 = no video, unplug hdmi and replug used to work but then stopped working.  VGA works fine.  In addition, if I manually turn off my display and then catch some Zzzz's, then when I go to turn it back on (using hdmi) then it won't come on just as it won't when the system is sleeping.  VGA works totally fine for everything though.  Very annoying.
Using an x58 model 132-bl-e758 with superclocked 560 non ti powered by an enermax galaxy 850.
evga tech support crew are far from bios professionals, I was thinking that maybe we could get someone from this other site to make us a custom bios that cleans up the rom a bit....honestly I don't see why EVGA can't give us plcc chip couplers to extend the rom along with a new bios to integrate the additional rom....oh yeah, just remembered why not, cuz they already have our money!
