Hi, I just got two S27D590 which have the following input ports:
1 x analog (VGA connector)
1 x HDMI
1 x Displayport

I connect the 1st monitor via HDMI which works fine.

I connected the 2nd monitor from DVI to the displayport like this: DVI -> DIV-MiniDisplayport -> MiniDisplayport-Displayport adapter
But I don't get any signal. I tried to use the DVI output on the slot with the HDMI / Displayport and the one on the separate slot. No luck. The monitor is not catching a signal.

System preferences show only one monitor as well. I'm running Yosemite on a MacPro 2008 early (3,1).

Are there are any special restrictions on the ports of the GTX 680 Mac Edition card? Can I only combine 2 x DVI or HDMI & Displayport? I understood that I could connect up to 4 monitors to the card. Which implies that I can use all output ports.

I have referred this thread to EVGA support.

If you're trying to use 2 monitors on that card, connect one with the native HDMI, and connect the other with a DP-MiniDP cable, or a DVI-HDMI cable. If you're trying to adapt DVI to DP, it won't work unless you have a rather pricey convertor like this one from StarTech.

Hi, thanks. That was the problem: DVI to DP needs a special convertor. One can't use a DP to DVI convertor. That was my fault. I got a pure DP cable which now works.
