Hello there.
Recently I've bought second hand EVGA GTX 670 Superclocked 2GB. Even though I love the performance I'm worried about temperatures. In fully opened chasis it gets... 44 C in idle, 90 C in full stress. Im not really worried about stress temperature, but 44 C idle seems too high for me.
I would like to know wheter these temps are normal or not?
There are multiple topics on google, but I find it difficult to find tests with my model exacly (which has "referent-alike" cooling system).

Best regards.

Welcome to the forums..The Maximum GPU Temperature as specified by NVIDIA for a 670 chip is 97C although I would be concerned with anything much over 80C under the most gruelling conditions.

The cooler in your card may just simply need cleaned which can be done by blowing back through the cooler with some canned air and picking the dust bunnies out through the fan opening.

Considering the age of the card and the unknown prior usage/history, I would disassemble the thing, clean it real good and apply fresh TIM such as MX-4 or other non-conductive TIM to the GPU chip..Use only a BB-sized drop of TIM in the middle of the chip or spread a thin layer using a credit card (or similar), too much TIM is a bad thing.

Here is a disassembly video..Applying fresh TIM is simple and easy and is what I would do.

You can also use EVGA Precision X/XOC or MSI Afterburner to create a custom fan speed curve to promote cooling.

Hey, thanks for tips. Off on my way to clean it out then!
One question before I start with cleaning - is it possible to remove plastic cover on EVGA GPUs without removing the heatsink from chip? Problem is that currently I have no TIM to use, so I would try with simply cleaning dust off first?
I know that I could remove cover without removing heatsink on my previous GTX but it was refernent cooling system - which is pretty similiar to EVGA, but maybe there are some differences I don't know about?

I used EVGA Precision X and when I increase the fan speed to about 50% (about 1800 RPM) GPU temp goes down, to about 36 C. This is showing that my card just needs to be cleaned, right?
Cheers!

Should be able to just remove the cover on that one while the cooler remains attached the PCB like is shown here.
