Hey all, I've seen a few posts about this issue and I'm honestly about ready to throw my computer out the window! I haven't OC'd anything. Actually, I think the computer is rather underpowered. I built this machine in 2009 and had it OC'd for a few weeks, but reverted back to basics after a BIOS update. Here are my sys specs: OS: Windows 7 Professional 64-bit Mobo: EVGA 141-BL-E757-TR LGA 1366 Intel X58 ATX X58 SLI LE Intel Motherboard Processor: Intel Core i7-920 Bloomfield 2.66GHz LGA 1366 130W Quad-Core Processor BX80601920/920 @ 2.67GHz (8 CPUs), ~3.2GHz RAM: 2x Crucial 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1066 (PC3 8500) Triple Channel - 12288MB RAM Vid: EVGA GeForce GTX 560 Ti (Fermi) 2GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card Power supply: CORSAIR TX Series CMPSU-750TX 750W ATX12V v2.3 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Compatible HDD: Western Digital WD VelociRaptor WD3000HLFS 300GB 10000 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" I recently formatted/reinstalled and physically cleaned the PC. I've downloaded E-Leet Tuning, OC Scanner and Precision X. Followed suggested fixes from several posts. They only seem to buy me a few more minutes. All drivers are up to date, to the best of my knowledge. Idle the GPU is running at about 28°c/30°c, once i get into BF4 running and about 5 to 8 minutes into game play, 68° was the highest i saw RivaTuner hit and the computer froze.

@: yes, all lowest settings. Thats what I don't get. I should be able to have this game cranking! Also using GeForce Experience. Oddly enough, there were some major Vid driver issues I encountered at the end of September. I wasn't able to do anything for more than 30 or 45 minutes w/o getting a "your video driver has crashed' message. So, I had to revert back to 314.XX version of the vid drivers. Using GeForce Experience, I updated my drivers to R3311, 331.82, and everything was working nicely for about 2 weeks. This "freezing" only started happening on Sat, Nov 30th. To the best of my knowledge, nothing has changed on my computer since then (other than my most recent cleaning). I ran EVGA OC Scanner X for over 2 hours w/o any issues. Actually, I left the house and came home to a functioning computer. All the tests that I've run never get the GPU overheated. I'm all up for any and all suggestions!

Have you taken the 560's heat shield off to clean it that way? That's the only way I clean graphics cards now. As far as BF4.. Not to sure sense the game runs in x64 I cannot get a in game temp reading without having to alt tab etc. Have you tried the latest beta drivers?? See if they help your issue any? use precision to make a fan profile to help cool your card down sooner?

I also forgot to recommend playing in windowed mode or maybe a different resolution! Try them both and one might work. I got left4dead 2 to run on my old piece of junk laptop that way, so it could help troubleshoot.

#1 Delete your BF4 settings file. - The settings file is located in: C:\Users\USERNAME\Documents\Battlefield 4\settings
- locate the file: PROFSAVE_profile & delete it.
#2 Uninstall EVGA Precision X, make sure to select "No" to saving profiles when uninstalling precision. #3 Perform a clean installation of video drivers. (Do not install GeForce Experience.)- Download & save driver 331.82 to your desktop.
- Double click on 331.82-desktop-win8-win7-winvista-64bit-english-beta.exe located on your desktop & run the extractor.
- Select custom advanced install, under custom installation options uncheck all options but graphics driver & physx system software, check mark perform clean install, then click next to install the driver, reboot computer when asked.
#4 Reinstall the latest version of EVGA Precision X & setup a custom fan profile. The following is recommended... #5 Launch BF4 and manually adjust your graphics settings to something your rig can handle. Test settings and play.

Yeaaaa a 560 isn't going to handle Bf4 even at lowest settings...Those cards are just too weak and dated. I think even a single 660 would struggle at low settings. Most newer titles require a single 680 or above to play at medium settings.

I took the casing of the VC today. Put new thermopaste on the the chip. Haven't tried new beta drivers. will give that a shot. @ramtruck - window mode always works better. but thats not how i roll. I appreciate it. I've always found that to the temp answer. :)

Minimum specs for BF4 is a 8800GT, the OP's 560 ti is faster than that.

There's proof supporting my claims. Intel Core i5 760 @ 4.0GHz 8GB DDR3 1944MHz 120GB Samsung 840 EVO EVGA 660 GTX Ti 2GB Screen was made back in 2007.. still doesn't have a dead pixel yet which is a Acer AL2016W @ 1680x1050 It's a 20" LCD none HD.. Maybe if i was running 1920x1080 or something of that sorts... id get maybe 25fps low but not likely. 560 GTX Ti is fine for medium to high still for BF4 using SBAO

I've taken off the shield all together, its spotless :) BF4 freezes with both x86 and 64 versions. Sajin #1 Delete your BF4 settings file.
- The settings file is located in: C:\Users\USERNAME\Documents\Battlefield 4\settings
- locate the file: PROFSAVE_profile & delete it.

Doing fresh/clean installs. removing old profiles. I'm not saying this fixed the issue but, I was able to play the game for about 20 minutes until I changed the graphics to from HIGH to MEDIUM. Then the game crashed on me. Go figure. I was getting about 30 fps fullscreen 1920 x 1200.

What kinda crash? Computer Freeze? Crash to Desktop? The game stopped responding, or what?

The first one was a hard freeze. Couldn't alt tab or anything. had to restart. Just got done playing, now the game crashes... so I think the graphics card heating issue has been resolved. I'll post more later tonight if anything else happens. Squall_Rinoa86 hmm.. Here's an Idea... Have you un-parked your cores?
http://www.overclock.net/t/1439672/want-to-increase-bf4-frames-unpark-your-cores
http://hardforum.com/show...11218&postcount=16 May help, Also have you went to Intel.com and updated the chipset drivers? Could help some.. Know your having an issue with the 560 itself but wont hurt to cover all bases.
Custom fan profiles help... If the latest beta drivers don't help and sense you said you cleaned it I'm feeling like it could be time to send that card in for a RMA soon. Does it do it with other games?
thanks, ill take a look! i'll double check my drivers. Only gets screwy with BF4. All other games are fine.

It's probably the game itself. Do you have BF3? If so, how does it run?

Initially, I was sure it was the video card over heating. now taht we've got that all squared away, I really think it has to do with the way the game's statistics is handled/passed along. BTW, my FPS have increased significantly. Good to know: http://www.intel.com/p/en...ort/detect?iid=dc_iduu

I doubt you would want to do this but you could try testing all your hardware to make sure it's 100%. http://forums.evga.com/FindPost/1938132

I would suggest trying Nvidia 331.58 (shutdown precision and custom mode/clean install) For 5/600 series cards and BF4 it is the most stable For many 5/600 users (including myself) use of -anything- higher will crash as you are describing... with 331.58 its crash free. *I believe your use of a higher driverset, is whats causing your last remaining issue

@ maniacvvv: WELCOME TO THE PARTY PAL! Perfect timing! after attempting to play a few rounds tonight, couldn't get more than 20 minutes in until, you guessed it, "freeze"! I'll give the older drivers a shot. Do you have a link to 331.58? or should i first attempt 331.65 which I have already downloaded... currently running 331.82 @Sajin: I ran most of the tests, wasn't exactly happy. Then again, I never am when I run the tests. ;)
