@ajs-cfg:
did check to make sure the audio device did not reenable itself in device manager?  also are you overclocking your VRAM?

Hahahaha! But it was Newegg :'( All parts are completely brand new... I did notice though that the box my vid. card and a few other essential were shipped in looked like it took a beating.

Also, yeah. I agree about the hardware remark. I just didn't have any spares. Very lucky to have a friend that trusted me enough to lend me his older card while I wait for Newegg to RMA my 470.

Thanks for all the input and help. Even though I didn't get to utilize all this info. I will keep it in mine for future driver updates and stuff since I didn't know some of this stuff.

Hi dunkinkid22,
I did verify the audio devices were not re-enabled after the driver install.  And as far as VRAM overclocking, the cards are completely stock.
As far as the audio devices, can i just go into device manager and uninstall the ones I disabled?  I assume they would just be replaced by a generic driver after rebooting.  Its something I thought about trying but decided not to until I can confirm it will not cause any issues.

Main Rig:

EVGA X58 SLI LE Mobo (i7 930)
        6GB Corsair Dominator (TR3X6G1600C8D)
        160GB Intel X-25M G2 SSD
        1TB WD Caviar Black HDD
         EVGA GTX 580 3GB  (with another on the way!)
        Corsair HX850 PSU
        Coolermaster HAF X Case

(Work Rig Identical, but w/  EVGA GTS250 GFX card, 80GB X-25M G2 and HAF922 case)
