Hi
I recently bought a EVGA GTX 1080 FTW, all went fine with the installation, Booted with no issues so I proceeded to Drivers Installation.
During the first steps of installation my screen went black and couldnt see anything but the mouse pointer which worked just like the keyboard. When I press the Ctrl+Alt+Dlt I get the working little wheel, so PC is still responsive.
I've tried unistalling drivers with DDU, then installing the pure driver.exe (Not GeFoce Experience) and selecting custom install>select only the drivers. Result was the same, during first steps of installation screen went black.
Specs:
Dell XPS 8500
Most Recent BIOS Update (A12)
16 GB RAM 1600 MHz - Corsair
Intel i7 3770
EVGA GTX 1080 FTW
PSU Corsair 750W
Before saying my PC might not support GTX 10 series, someone else installed the same card and had no problems, several people installed 1070s on the same PC without issues too.
Im getting desperate :(
Thanks for your help!
P.S. Before saying there's already a similar thread:I've searched for similar issues with no result.
All the similar problems I find state they see a No Input Signal on their computers or their pcs just freeze, not my case since I have full Keyboard and mouse control.
Thanks again!
UPDATE: I could finally install the drivers... How? booting in secure mode.
Clean Installation of latest drivers ran well, but when restarting and booting into normal mode, just after the Blue Windows Logo animation I got stuck at the loading wheel animation.
That gives me the idea that the problem is with my Windows 10 installation rather than a GPU problem, I will try to do a reset, erasing all apps and SW but keeping my files.
