I'm reading the GTX 1080 coming out within this month, I purchased 2x GTX 980Ti one on the 27th and other on the 6th, will I have the availability to upgrade using the Step-Up program?

This is a step-up question, so it belongs there. But umm, as long as they offer them for step-up within your 90 day window, then yes.

I'm in a similar situation, bought a 980Ti on the 29th of April. If I claim the mail in rebate (i.e. cut the UPC out of the box) will I still be able to use the step-up program?

Thanks in advance!

To be eligible, you will have to be within the 90 Days of purchse Step-Up window, have your card registered with 14 days of purchase(otherwise you will have to purchase an extended warranty), and we will need a copy of your purchase invoice uploaded to evga.com/invoice once you are done. You can also check your Step-Up eligibility on your EVGA profile under MY PRODUCTS then VIEW DETAILS under the product you want to Step-Up from it will tell you how many days you have left.

Thank You, Yes I already did all that and have 87 days, I guess I have to wait for the 1080 to be available on the Step-Up.

Yes, but when you figure the price you paid for the card you will deduct the rebate from the price.

We talking $20-$25 that wont stop me, I have no issues deducting that rebate amount from the price.

Agreed.  Just wondered if there was a clause somewhere saying something silly like "If you cut your box, you can't step-up."   :)

And yes, everything is registered in my EVGA account.

Hi Guys,
I bought my evga 980 TI SC+ ACX 2.0+ on 28th of February on amazon and I did not registered until today.
I understand that I have to extend my guarantee is the only option for being eligible to step up program
I have 18 days left to finish my 90 day period.
GTX 1080 will be released on 27h of May so I am going to have a day left when it release.
Is the new card will be added to step up list as soon as it released?

P.s. English is not my mother language so sorry for mistakes.

Thanks,

Just a quick question, since it's my first time using EVGA. I have "Start a new Step-Up. Days Left 56" and then below "No Step-Up Allowed" for my 980ti ftw. Is it like that for everyone?

This is relevant to my interests as a 980 Classy owner that only recently bought in.

When will the 1080 show up in StepUp? I would like to apply as soon as it's available.

I bought a 980 Ti Classified in April for VR. It would be great to step up to the 1080 since VR is so demanding.

EVGA has told me they have no idea when they expect 1080s to be in the step up program. It is not guaranteed they will be available in the step-up program on launch day. I wouldn't expect it to be too long. Giving a 90 day step-up program then holding the cards for a month prior to being able to use the program wouldn't really be a 90 day program. It would be 90 days minus time it takes for evga to make them available for step-up program. So hopefully no more than a week?

Don't feel bad , I got mine last July . I think that they should allow all 980ti purchasers the opportunity to step-up their cards! And here I am , thinking about running 2 980tis just so I can max out Borderlands 2 !!

I've read in a few spots that the reference versions are only available for the step up program early on for a cards release. From past trends, is it safe to say that the founders card will be the only step up version available for quite some time? Kinda bummed out cause it's $100 more.

Also waiting for EVGA's Step-Up for my EVGA GTX 980 Ti Classified (which I purchased at the beginning of this month).
Hopefully the "Step-Up" will also be available in Europe (the Netherlands)

Someone mentioned the 27th? Is this true and if yes, does it also extend to Europe at the same time???

So I purchased my 980ti April 13th but did not register within the 15 days or whatever...now to qualify for the stepup to gtx 1080 I have to buy a upgrade warranty...if I have to buy the extra warranty for 30$ on top of paying 699$ for the founders card minus what I had paid for the 980ti I don't find the upgrade even worth it at this point. Reference cards PCB are just barely faster then the over clocked 980ti....what do you guys think? Also the gtx 1070 is supposed to be faster then the 980ti according to reviews and leaked benchmarks. I think anyone who bought the 980ti pretty much screwed them selves by not waiting for a custom PCB 1080..now it's sell for 30% less on eBay or hold onto the card and buy a 1080ti.

I'm in the same boat. Didn't register and have a 980ti that overclocks to 1500Mhz no problem. If EVGA offers something other than the FE edition, I will probably pull the trigger. Otherwise, i'll just wait for the 1080ti as my 980ti is just fine at 1440p.

That's what I'm saying...the 980ti over clocked is a stock 1080...why would I or anybody else want to drop an additional 100$ or whatever you paid for your ti for maybe a 5-10fps gain at 4k on a 1080 that can't handle being over clocked on the stock cooler?? Makes zero sense, it's the 1080ti or nothing for me at this point. If anything a 2100mghz+ custom cooled 1080 would be considered but not reference.

Proof of what I'm saying...
look at those clocks OC 980ti vrs stock 1080 and then oc 1080.
