So after a couple days, i've noticed that my temps get to about 68c-72c while playing WoW on 4K resolution. Is this acceptable temps or am i damaging my cards?

Hello ChristoSolace and welcome to the Forums!

Those temps are perfectly fine, especially for 4K gaming. The max temp the GTX 1080 FTW can withstand without damage is 94c. If you are concerned about your temps try downloading Precision XOC and manually setting a more aggressive fan profile.

My temps are up when playing myself. What settings are you changing that are lowering your temps?

Turn down the scaling to 100% and use no higher than CMAA for Anti-Aliasing.

I also played WoW on Ultra settings on a 2k/165Hz/G-Sync Monitor with (2) EVGA GTX 980Ti Classifieds in SLI (old cards) and I noticed a huge difference in temperature going from 100% rendering to 150%, then 200%. Granted, the case (In Win 909) I got isn't optimized for airflow like it is for watercooling but with rendering back down to 100%, I was seeing high 60s/low 70's on the top card, high 50s/low 60s on the bottom card. Cranked it up to 150%-200% and my top card gets pegged at my temperature limit (mine is set for 85c) and downclocks from 14XX Mhz to 12XX Mhz while my bottom card still sits around low/high 60s.
