PURPOSE: To show our support for AB, who has contributed a lot to Folding atop everything else he's done for our community. If you're interested, would you guys mind switching over a few of your GPUs on your personal rigs? Let's give him a small boost during this very difficult time.

HOW: Switch over your GPU Folding clients to fold for "Afterburners". Once you install the GPU Folding client (found here), right click the tray icon molecule and select "Configure" >> "User" tab >> User name "Afterburners" >> (optional) Team 111065 >> close and restart the client. You're obviously welcome to start or swap your CPU clients as well, I just suggest GPU because it's easy to install and reconfigure.

I assume he wouldn't want this, because he's very modest like that  That's why I changed the title so he wouldn't notice/make a deal of it. He'll probably be very busy concentrating on everything else going on and not worrying about the small stuff like Folding, so I figure we can help him out, and if in the future he notices the point jump he'll probably figure people switched anonymously. If nothing else we can keep his PPD going while he is focusing on the bigger things in life.

It's a very small, practical, and fitting gesture on our parts, which is why I suggested it.

If nothing else can someone just confirm that "AfterBurners" is his Folding name so that at least I can donate some points if I choose to individually?

That's a good goal, I'll go for that instead of sorta arbitrarily picking a cutoff date.

I'm in! I only run about 13k ppd, but it's the least we can do to show we care. C'mon everyone, AB is a great guy and he can use all the positive energy we can send his way!

All my GPU's (~33K) switched ... wish I could do more to support him and his family.

Cool. Once I start my folding up again I will change the clients. Been playing ME2 lately so only been folding @25%. I am sure EVGA will be fine with it, I remember we were allowed to help 1337h4l get his 780i when his died.

^ That sounds much faster and better than a tangible card. Or could we make some sort of E-card?

Definitely. I'm just switching GPUs since I had to fiddle with CPU VMware quite a bit to get it to accept my user name in the first place. For some reason whenever I think of AB I think of GPUs, probably because he's always making jokes about his TRI-SLI obsessions/regrets

Yeah, thank you Dutchforce. I added it up top. The post is getting messy but I like that it's changed a couple times with everyone's help and suggestions in making a small difference for AB.

If someone wants to make like an e-card(I'm no good with photoshop), then we can email it around and have people put there forum names on it.

Might i suggest some folding graphics, being how dedicated to folding he is.I like the signature thing , Maybe she could type in our forum name and insert the signature next to it.

Maybe something like "Prayers From Your Folding Friends @EVGA" something to that effect at top.

I will try and pm all the old timers that used to be around that knew him also.
