I've wondered many times if we are expecting a great result from the optimized Kepler core, but may find less than expected when it is released.  Definitely a SWAG though unless someone had a model to put data through that could produce expected figures.  So, I stayed up all night and created the model.  It showed remarkable results that "tweaked my melon"!  It shows that Kepler will have a 75% increase in PPD, reset the Folding Team world standings, cure baldness, make contact with Aliens, and cause [H] to say "I love EVGA".

The same thing happened to me when I started using Preparation H.

Try foil underwear...it's more effective for that kind of problem and better insulates against ground attacks!

My collection of tin foil hats is actually quite fetching. Best setting crease for a fedora!

Set beta flags for the weekend. Also got rid of my pci card so I can spread my gpus out for better cooling. Got myself a usb rackmount interface for audio!

Just need some 8057s now!

You actually might be onto something   not in the sense of drinking or smoking LOL

Just look at my recent folding results
EOC stats
http://folding.extremeoverclocking.com/user_summary.php?s=&u=438460

Kakao stats
http://kakaostats.com/usum.php?u=1494499

Now I realise that not everyone is lucky enough to get these WU's "8057's" although just look at the difference in our team production .So there must be alot of our members that are receiving these WU's ???

EOC stats for EVGA

I'm thinking with the change around in PPD production on GPU's with our team heavy on GPU folders shouldn't this turn things around ??? Or is this just wishful thinking ???

Could be some of it but don't forget its the 1st of the month & EVGA bucks members
play a good part in the numbers growing at the start of the month.

Wishful thinking.  That is just the usual start of month Bucks folding boost.

At the moment everyone is getting borked GPU points from the new core and borked SMP points from low ppd projects and the fact that the new GPU core seems to really slow down SMP folding.

So presently the only people 'winning' in the points race are BigAdv folders.

One hopes they sort this mess out soon.

Just finished my first 2P system. I'm glad I decided to use an ASUS Z9PE-D8 WS motherboard that has seven PCI Express slots and a Xigmatek Elysium case that has 10 Expansion Slots.

I'm going to fire up my GTX 670 now. What settings do I need to change in the GPU Tracker?

I can't agree more
Im getting tired of doing 35k on my 3930k when it was doing 50k+ before all this and 140K under Bigadv
now GPU numbers are down as well?

Like I said the problem is feedback - no one at FF allows complaints about points
that leaves only the DAB to channel frustration

yup. it's insane to me that sometimes I can get 50k running SMP only.  I would say I average 30k on SMP only.  Then suddenly, bam! you get days and days worth of crappy units and can barely scrape 20k.

frustrating.

For those that complain about the points on SMP there is a simple solution, Finish the current wu, download and install the old 6.34 smp client, configure it and start it.  You should get a steady stream of a3 WU that give you more points.  Don't ask me why but for some reason a3 WU are more prevalent on v6 and the lower scroing a4 more prevalent on v7.  on my l5640 rig its worth an extra 8-13k PPD

I run nothing but 6.34 console & still get a mix of A3 & A4 on 6 different rigs.
Ranging from 980x, 2600K, 2x i7 860, E5645 & E5620.
Could be getting more A3's with 6.34, but couldn't say since I run nothing else but 6.34.
I would say I get 50/50 of the two "A3/A4" across those rigs.
Edit: Any of the ones with A3 could very easy get a A4 on its
next download of work of the 1p rigs shown.
So unless your getting 100% A4 with another client there may be no need to change over?
I"d like to see a flow of info on what others think there % is of A3/A4 with V7?

I agree TheWolf, I also run the 6.34 Console client and it's also 50/50 (A3/A4) for me.

Members who use the "latest" V6 Console client or using Tracker V2 already run the 6.34 client.

And a reminder: Bonus for A4-core based projects

on v7 it's almost A4 all the time for me.
Mind you I do catch a 70K A4 once in Blue Moon, but it doesn't make up for the point drop

I have no flags set for SMP (no advanced)

Has anyone stopped to think about the implications of the GPU QRB scheme on EVGA's folding bucks promotion? If these points values hold true, then the threshholds for EVGA bucks are most likely going to skyrocket!!!

this isnt a bad thing considering it helps everyone. Just something i thought about. The spectrum is just going to shift equally for most people.

Wait a minute - you're running Ubuntu 10.04 on that 2P system, right?  How are you going to do GPU folding on the same system?  I thought GPU on Linux could only be done by jumping through hoops (i.e. using Wine and being totally unsupported).

GPu is still unsupported on linux although they are playing with a linux gpu client in closed testing, either David is running windows or he has made linux dance to his gpu tune....

In case this helps... not on the beta team, but running beta flag on both my cards (see sig), with nothing but 8018's @ 20-21k on both cards and the occasional 7625 at 14-16k ppd.  No 8057's yet, which is fine, but in case folks at FF are curious about how prevalent they are.  My Gigabyte is still showing as GK107, as well - even with the 7.2.9 client .  My 660ti shows correctly at GK104.

same as JK...Asus 670 (non-top) still showing 107
steady dose of 8018s for several days, but one advanced and one beta (no difference so far)

at least no difference but lower ppd overall
Averages:
250 at 6k ppd (2)
650 at 5k ppd (2)
670 at 19k (2)

I figured as much (see bold portion of my original message) and was requesting that you maybe help out the project by supplying some info on Keplar folding on the P8057 units. Nobody on the Beta team with Keplars have gotten any yet.

Re:GPU points/QRB discussion 2012/11/04 15:11:56 (permalink)
I am once again lost in all this. I have F@H v7 installed on my folding rigs. I have not gotten any of the newer work units, only the 8018 ones for 5757 points. It does no bonus calculation, though I have the client-type beta flags set. Are these exclusive to the 600 series cards? I have 2x GTX 560's, a 450, a 9800GT, and a Radeon 6950, none of which are getting these newer units. Do I need to upgrade to the latest beta version of the FAH v7 software as well?
