-ZS-Carpenter TheWolf -ZS-Carpenter TheWolf texinga Looks like the "days of manipulating Cores" have come to an end. And so has folding at your best. When it becomes where you can no longer tweak things to get better performance per watt I'm out. So your going to fall off my radar now? I just ordered parts to hold you off and you take your ball and go home Sure am, its not about the PPD now, its about the cost. Enjoy the pressure being removed. One day it may return. Its only about the science and personal goals here. You pass me I pass a few others, points are just for bragging rights and to push each other. Same amount of work getting done if i get 1 point or 100k for a WU. its already starting to cool down in here, looks like I can cut off the AC units now so ya a big savings on my end & I don't have to put up with this uncomfortable heated room and that was with the AC's running.

tank1023 If you are still getting over 100k for a GPU client on the new cores its still well worth folding. Don't forget what these wu's are without the QRB. Keep em running boys we need to take back first place! +1 Turn back the clock a month and think about how great 100k ppd for a GPU would have looked if it was offered to you. Who knows what will happen when this leaves beta and if/when they restore the fermi optimizations that were lost.

I mean come on who in there right mind would be running AC in the middle of winter, with temps in or below 65F out side other than a dedicated folder? When you open the windows & doors & that 65F out side can't cool a 12x24 room you have to cut the AC on.

I'm actually running my AC right now and it is because of unusually warm December weather 70F and running all this Folding equipment. I'd also like to blame it on my current non-favorite GPU WU, the ever-popular 762x series. That will be a catch-all for my Folding frustrations until either all of them are Folded and they go away, or "the cows come home". I can only tell you guys this because if I told a non-Folder I'm running AC in December to Fold, they would just say "are you out of your mind"?

I pulled a 8057 about 12 hours ago, approx. 7:00Am EST. It stayed with 2.22 then. I haven't received another since the core started forcing.

I'm getting P762x WUs since an hour ago on my Fermi cards running the V6 clients without the advanced or beta flag. I looked at the Server Status and noticed that servers 171.67.108.141, 142, 143 and 144 are switched to I (internal) and don't assign P804x, P8054 or P8057 WUs anymore. The server for P762x WUs (171.64.65.105) is just switched from A (advanced) to A and F (advanced and FAH) and that's the reason I'm getting P762x WUs now. So I don't know if they are working on the other servers now...

[sarcasm] It's almost like they realized I hit my 350K goal in the first 60 hours this month and thought "Oh, the power company will need more hours to meet their quota" - so they slapped everyone with a 50K point reduction. That's the REAL conspiracy! F@H is in bed with the power companies!! [/sarcasm] Just hope the reduction doesn't make me regret that GTX 460 2Win I just purchased....

Better keep a close look at your log after the forced 2.25 core. I had a p7625 I was letting finish before quieting GPU folding even had it set to finish, at 86% done it all of a sudden finds my GPU no longer stable enough to work these WU,after its been working many many WU's for months now. The bad thing is the finish did NOT stop after it got the EUE but picked up another p7625 that only made it to 4% that EUE. Picking up yet another 7625, so I just ended v7 and that will be my last GPU WU until reported all problems are fixed with GPU work.

Glad to know I'm not the only crazy one with AC in December! Windows have been wide open for the last two days.
Wolf - had the same issue over the last two days. I wasn't sure if it was the stability of my OC or the heat. Before I do anything with the OC, I'm going to see if the lower temps in the next few days solves the isse. I've seen stranger things....

I think its the core 2.25, I haven't really worked any works units with this core. 2.22 never failed a work unit with this card ever. Could be heat related, it was at 82c when I shut it down. But I don't really feel that was the problem here since I found it at 104c just a day ago when the 306.97 stopped the GPU fan from running. So long as I leave MSI Afterburner on in the tray the fan works as it should. If it can fold & return finished work units at 104c then 82c shouldn't be the problem here.

Thanks for the heads up. Finishing up last 8057 on version 2.22 and had my first crash on new gtx 550ti. Looks like there is a 2.25 issue on fermi. I out until they get this mess fixed.
