I would becareful the way the 460's are sitting loosely btw, it could put stress on the PCI-E slots in my opinion.

Yea, Im thinking the same thing. going to make a bracket to space the cards and hold them slightly more upright. all my tools are at work so it has to wait till tomorrow for that.

Been digging on craigs list most of the day for a new CPU for it. The board is an odd one, wont run 45nm LGA 775 chips so i need to find something like a Q6600 for it. And its all 450s, if I put the 4th one in the CPU bottlenecks everything. Other than the cpu I'm going to let it run as is until keper optimization is here.

But Its got 2 8057 running atm, 62k each stock clocks v7 v2.22. If I pulled them on all 6 GPUs that are running I would see over 500k ppd adding the 2 smp clients I have running. Not bad for a bunch of junk that was laying around.

Way to fold ZS!
I see a unused GTS450 laying there I could put to good use for the team.
Stock piling the snuff are we?

Edit: this is what I do to help my cards set up better.
Place the flexible sli bridge on the far end card, but as seen, but depends on slot placement.
then use a solid double or triple sli bridge up top linking the cards.
Holds then steady & up right well & the solid bridge helps be steady & fair spacing.

hehehe, if i was only stockpiling good stuff you'd see me on the top 25 list

the sli bridge idea is great. If the 450 had a double tab I would do that. I will keep that in mind if/when i upgrade.

A single solid sli bridge will work some what to support 2 of the cards better.
If you have a double slot sli bridge "double spacing" use it, would be best.
EDit: Single solid sli bridge  double spacing is what I was trying to say,
sorry for any confusion.

I'm up and running on v7 finally , picked up my first 8057 on my GTX 570 and it does 125K

can't wait to see what my total will be when my other GTX 570 and GTX 460 get one.

Here is a side thought btw, you guys think its worth buying a bunch of GT 430, GT 630 cards or something now that QRB is here? I'm curious what the PPD would be on them now.

Re:GPU points/QRB discussion 2012/11/19 11:15:47 (permalink)
Here's something I like to see more input on: some seem to think there will be no QRB for GPU2.
But I see no note in this that says that, see link:

<equal points for equal work> Note: no were does it say for GPU3 only!!!
all the current GPU projects will be re-benchmarked to reflect the changes in the benchmarking scheme.

I take it as QRB for all current GPU projects at the time of the writing for this release note.
GPU2 has not been dropped at this point so it should get QRB so long as its still in action working projects.
Why would people think other wise, have I missed something here?

how long does it take for the bonus points to show up? I dropped a 8057 last night and EOC is only showing the base credit, I have the passkey set, I assume the same one from SMP will work on GPU right?

Assuming that you haven't used a passkey for GPU folding before, the requirement is a minimum of 10 units completed with an 80% success rate.

My key was already primed from smp work. Double check your key making sure there is no spaces before or after if you copied and pasted it.

Make sure there isn't a space before your passkey. When you copy and paste, it puts a space in front.

The key is fine cause I'm getting bonus on my SMP units. I think I just have to wait until GPU gets 10 of them done for bonus to show on them.

My only theory is that there's a space before your passkey in v7.

I just double checked, the passkey is fine.

Are you a member of the Beta team?  If you are, I'd go to the Forum and ask why you are not getting Bonus points.

If you are not, well you can post in this forum and ask, but you are liable to be told by our mate Bruce (sarcasm) that because it's a beta unit and you are not a beta team member, that you are SOL.
