If you take a look at our team member summary it shows a large number of people who are already above their daily average with two updates still left in the day. The Wu is definitely more available than it was just a few days ago, hopefully that's a sign that the QRB program is almost public.

Won't be long before we have the top spot again, maybe even before the year is over.
Be nice to be top dog for the new year

I'm pulling 700 watts with a ppd of 470k on a 2600k and 2 580s. OC'd to the limit and crunching a SMP and 2 8057s. I wonder how that compares to a 2p or 4p rig?

Anyone else lurk over at the other team's forum? The silence over there is deafening, surely they aren't partaking in this QRB behind closed doors. If you think we're gonna steamroll to first place anytime soon, think again. They worked hard to gain it and they are working hard to keep it, don't be surprised if they beat us at our own game.

well Im at 148k for the day with 1 updates left

I have :
one smp from 3930k  to drop
one 8018 to drop
two 8057's (18k each) coming

if I could catch nothing but 8057 on all 3 gpu's  output 375k for that
add in SMP for 40k-50k (until I get second rig up)

I just put in my old GTX 460 and got an 8057 WU and I'm getting a TPF of 3:18 and Est. PPD of 61K.
Does that sound right? It seems a bit low.

its not the 580, ive tested it on its own, even RMA'd it to make sure. its not the PSU either, i tried multiple. I think i may have a bad pci slot, but testing that is harder with the watercooling system. I dont have the right SLI fitting to span to a different slot. im working on it. I just got sick of testing and gave up on it for a while.

which core you using v2.25 or v2.22?
2.22 will give you better results (but you have to manually downgrade to get that)

Congrats!
That's one of the reason I don't mess with watercooling

Ahh right, I totally forgot about that.
TPF is down to 2:30 now.

Re:GPU points/QRB discussion 2012/11/11 21:38:42 (permalink)
Grabbed a couple, PPD according to HFM
i7 2600K @ 4.5 SMP8 - P8049(R139,C1,G133) = 16222 PPD
660ti (1097/3055) -     P8057(R0,C265,G4)     = 110,558 PPD
560TI(925/2005) -       P8057(R0,C186,G11)   = 86782    PPD
                                                    Total        = 214,462 PPD

The 560Ti is a bit low because I'm using V7 so I have to have the 2.25
core.

Re:GPU points/QRB discussion 2012/11/11 21:53:50 (permalink)
I just had something wierd happen...

I had a couple of 8057 work units folding on my 680's they were pretty much going to finish at the same time . One picked up a 7623 work unit The 680 picked up a 8057 work unit. I walked away came back to check on things and found that the 8057 work unit had some kind of error and was punted and picked a 8018 work unit for replacement

The 560Ti is a bit low because I'm using V7 so I have to have the 2.25
core.

I'm running 2.22 core with v7.2.9 on 2 PCs w/580s and get improved TPF/PPD; you should have no problem either.

core.

I'm running 2.22 core with v7.2.9 on 2 PCs w/580s and get improved TPF/PPD; you should have no problem either.

This is true, however I am running a Kepler (660ti) and a Fermi (560ti) in the same system and using the same program (V7).  My understanding is that you cannot have 2 version of the core under the same program.
If I forced 2.22, I would not be able to fold on the Kepler.

Regarding the many posts that recommend using FAHCore_15 version 2.22 vs 2.25, I have a couple questions.
  • Using the Pande FTP site where they keep copies of the various Cores/versions, the file there does not have a file extension.  I would expect that the file needs to be changed to be an "exe" file to be used, but I don't know for sure.  So, what are people doing with that file after you download it to make it useful to the Folding program?
  • I see people saying that they are keeping a copy of the Core file (version 2.22) in a separate Folder and using it to make sure they are not running the 2.25 version.  In practical form, what exactly are you doing with that file?  Are you keeping it in a separate Folder so that when ver 2.25 is auto down-loaded by V7, you can copy it (ver 2.22) back over into the associated V7 Folder for use?  I keep reading about people doing this stuff, but don't have a clear (layman's) understanding of exactly what you are doing to make these changes and when you are making them.
I'm trying to follow what some of you are doing with the 2.22 Core, but just am not fully understanding it, so I'd appreciate so help.  Thanks.

What's so hard to understand? If v7 re-downloads 2.25 then you have  a backup of 2.22 to replace

To (try) and answer your question, it's not automatic or anything - I assume those that put it in a seperate folder its for practicality. Basically as soon as your PPD lowers you know you're back on 2.25 so just quit your v7, copy paste the 2.22 back into the directory to overwrite 2.25 then restart folding clients. It's basically all we can do as of now.

Here you go texinga:

extreme.pcgameshardware.de/attachments/598474d1351987551-rumpelkammer-pcgh-folding-home-thread-ii-core_15.fah_v2.22.zip

Just make another folder in the same directory as the the 2.25 core, right next to it (for convenience). Dump the 2.25 and replace with the 2.22 when needed.

...and maybe you have some reading comprehension challenges?  I was pretty clear and my questions were not hard to understand.  Is there some reason you feel the need to be this rude to a fellow team member today?  We are a team last time I checked and your answer was pretty far from being helpful to another member.  Many times people (including myself) have answered questions for other team members (multiple times too) and that has been a positive of this team...or at least it used to be.

Awe is someone getting mad because they lacking understanding of something so simple?
I find it incredibly funny that you're trying to insult my reading ability when you're the one that can't read that members are deleting the 2.25 core and replacing it with the 2.22 core.
And being rude to other members? Where exactly am I being rude and to whom?

Up there in BOLD is exactly what everyone is doing but for some strange reason you can't comprehend that

So you're so knowledgeable now that unless someone asks a question in exactly the way that you want it, they don't deserve a polite response or help?  Hmmm...if this is any example of the team we have become, then it may be time to consider other things.

the rest was just asking for some clarity. The question has been answered, so really there's no need for further hostilities. Cut it out already and fold everyone.. like grownups should. Any further discussion should get back to the OP

No he is not, and you are being somewhat obnoxious.

Sometimes a process that you think to be incredibly easy just does not 'click' for someone else.
There is no need to be snarky when clarifying something for someone, that is what these forums are here for.
It's your attitude that needs adjusting, not Texingas.
Do try being more civil and accommodating when dealing with others, you'll find it goes a long way.
