Code 144 = USB problem. Unplug all usb devices except your keyboard and mouse. To fix the pixelation problem disable hardware acceleration inside your web browser.

Man really frustrating :( Didn't work... now im also getting some weird texture glitches in BF4 too. Random parts of things cutting through hallways. Very minimal, but just saw it in campaign...
What should I do next? Im still getting GPU usage drops here and there. I'm still getting micro stutter when watching movies in Netflix.
I'm sure my drivers are installed correctly and all up to date, ive checked.
Thank you

Testing the card in another computer would be my next suggestion.

Any other way?

What video card does your dad have? You could test his video card in your computer.

I thought I replied to this thread... apparently not, I apologize.
He has a Nvidia 8400 GS... So that won't work. He has an i7 6700 and 16GB of ram though.
This problem is really confusing me. If I send this to a professional, Im worried they wont find anything...

Best option is your dad's pc if his pc has the psu to power your 970.

Hey Sajin, It seems my next step is just buying some new parts and switching them in and out and seeing what fixes it. I'm viewing my reliability history and honestly everything seems perfectly fine, its just these hardware errors. Last time it was Code 144, which we pinpointed to being a flash drive. Since then there's been two hardware error's. Both labeled as "LiveKernelEvent" with the code "AB" it seems this is a problem lots of people are experiencing rather recently... But i don't see a solution. Would you happen to have any ideas? Thanks

Do the AB errors go away if you take your gpu completely out of the system and just run off the igpu?

Hey Sajin, Just wanted to update you. I've opted to just get a new GPU and a new PSU as well as some new case fans. I'm going with a 1070, not sure which one yet but its likely the MSI one (Ive heard its the best in terms of cooling). PSU I've already ordered a EVGA 750W G2 PSU. Fans, probably 6x 120mm Noctua fans.
However today I ran into a problem, i'm a worried right now and a bit anxious... Playing Battlefield 4 (The problem with the graphics is now a lot less noticeable for whatever reason....) But I close BF4 after about 45 minutes of gameplay and I notice the case fans are speeding up and slowing down. Revving up and down for some reason. I also smell a slight faint rubber smell. The temperatures on MSI afterburner and speedfan seemed to be fine. I restarted and let it sit for a little bit and the fans eventually went down.
However right now I am very worried because of the rubber smell, right now I do not smell it. I was smelling it out of the top fans that I believe suck air in. I posted on some facebook groups and people told me to run some stress tests for CPU/ GPU to make sure those weren't bad. For CPU it was fine. For GPU it was underclocking itself and the furmark test was a bit stuttery. I also ran "UserBenchmark" which came out ok. HOWEVER the second time I tried running it my computer randomly restarted within the first 5 seconds.
What do you think is the issue here...? I'm hearing the rubber smell and that random restart could be because of the PSU failing. But they're also saying it could be my motherboard. I checked for blown capacitors and I don't seem to see any. I already have my EVGA 750W G2 PSU on order, it should come on the 25th, but I want to make sure if I need to replace my motherboard or not too...
Thanks... I always appreciate the help!

Random restarts usually point to a faulty psu/gpu.

That's what Im thinking too. But what about the case fans revving earlier? Would the case fans speed up really fast and go down and repeat itself if the PSU is dying?

I could see the fans slowing/speeding up if the fans weren't receiving adequate power.

Well here's the thing though, for example if im on load with BF4, the fans would be at 75%. But on idle it would be for example on 30%. It was going from 30% and speeding up to 75% and slowing down to 30% and speeding back up to 75%.

I'm not sure if this is a thing or not... but would it be the motherboard detecting the PSU is overheating and revving the fans to cool it down? Or, is the motherboard overheating and revving its fans to cool itself down?

Definitely not the motherboard detecting the psu overheating. Sensors on the motherboard could have went wonky for a moment which caused the fan surging.

Gotcha, so its very likely the PSU that's failing and just needs replacement.
You think this computer is still safe to use? for simple tasks, no gaming. PSU won't come in for another few days and I got finals coming up I need this thing for to study with :/

Yeah, time for a new psu. Should be ok for simple tasks, but if it starts shutting down/randomly restarting durning simple tasks I would stop using it.

Thanks Sajin, I really appreciate all the help you've given me in the past month. I've definitely learned a lot, It's been a bit of a rollercoaster, rather scary at times when I have no clue what's going on, but none the less its been a valuable learning experience.
Got the PSU coming in hopefully on the 25th and Ill try and replace it myself. Then onto the new graphics card and case fans.

Yeah, definitely time to replace the psu as it appears to only come with a 1 year warranty.

Yeah plus i've heard Rosewill PSU's are kinda iffy and can give issues.
Hey by the way... You have an affiliate code and it links to product registration. I got my EVGA PSU off of ebay via the newegg store, I can register it through you right? what does it do?

If you register the psu using my affiliate code I will receive two evga bucks that I can spend in the evga store. You must upload your invoice when registering for me to receive the bucks.
