Hi, I was under the impression that with any purchase of a 980 you get a free game (a ubisoft game IIRC). I recently bought an EVGA 980 and stepped up my old EVGA 780TI. So I end up with two 980's and not one single game :(
Just google "free game with 980" to see. Or am I missing something?
Does anyone have more info on this? Am I entitled to a free game or two?

Good question
I'm not sure how it works with regarding the Step Up process. I would have expected it to be the same, but considering you're only "making up the difference" in cost and not paying for the full game outright then maybe you don't qualify? I'm not sure
When I received my 970 (not via Step Up) I had a scratch card that gave me a key which I entered into UniSoft's website to get my free game.
Why don't you open a 'chat' with one of the customer service team. They should be able to help you pretty quickly.

I am pretty sure step up is considered a promotion, and as a promotion isn't allowed to be mixed with a promotion, you got two 980's without the games for a reason. NVidia doesn't offer step up, EVGA does. IF EVGA gave you games for free, they would be taking the hit, so consider yourself lucky that the only company that does step ups did a step up for you :-).
If not, you could have gone but on the 780ti's trying to sell them, and then try d to fight the retail war just to get two games.

Confused. I bought a 970 yesterday from a participating retailer and I didn't get a code of any variety in the box. The box was shrink wrapped and sealed so am I just SOL or what do I do?

Contact the retailer that you bought the 970 from. The retailers are the ones that have the codes.

Contact the retailer that you bought the 970 from. The retailers are the ones that have the codes.
That is correct as this is an NVIDIA based promotion.

"Products received through the EVGA Step-Up® program are not eligible for this promotion." This is from EVGA's promo page. You can still get a code for the 980 from the retailer if it's a participant in the promotion.

The retailer should have given you a code, as long as they participate in the promotion. I had a code on my receipt...that I was able to claim...

Promotions are at participating retailers only. Game promotions cannot be mixed with step-up promotions. Also check qualifying dates of purchase.
