@HalloweenWeed
Sorry if i have offended you in any way. I was just sharing my experience. My friend who also has 5850's doesn't have an issue with his evga's usb. He was about to format his computer a while ago so we gave my 5970's another try. Set Memory Low Gap to auto, 1.5G, 2G, 2.5G and we have no luck on booting to windows, so the only option now is to set it to 3G and whalla! We have successfully booted windows. At first and second transfers, there was no problem with the usb then the same problem occured at our 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th try. Tried reboting and did our 7th and 8th tries with still no luck. Also, I was wondering if CCC v10.3 plus Apps Profiles v10.3 would work this time cause i'm having major low fps while i was using it in my rig. But sadly, it also happened to him. He's 5850's has no problems with both CCC 10.3 and Application Profiles 10.3. I would be guessing that you also have no problems running your 5850's in both driver v10.3? My 5970's has less problems with CCC v10.2+Apps profiles v10.3 though.

So, my point is, i am not plainly blaming ATI or worshipping Nvidia on that matter. But, instead, I am just sharing my experience that solved my USB problems so others like me that have the same video card and motherboard would know that Memory Low Gap is somewhat connected with their USB problems.

Respects to you sir.

Oh, hell no. I don't feel a bit personally offended, and you did the right thing. I am just defending ATI, as I see it, just as you are reporting what you have experienced. Actually, I wonder if it is just a prob limited to ATI & NVidia cards concurrently installed in the same machine. And I understand the benefit of having a PhysX accelerator (and drool over the thought). But I also think if I was to do that, I would use 100% NVidia instead, to avoid any possible conflicts just like you experienced.

Hi all,

We are still trying to reproduce the USB issue that some are experiencing in the forum. In order to correct this potential issue we need detailed information on the following items. Please respond in this thread with the following information. Please only post once in this thread.

  1. Please describe the issue, USB not responding? USB slow?
I sent you my Classified motherboard with this issue.
RMA Number
542110007873

  1. Which USB devices and/or ports are failing?
all USB ports.
  1. Which motherboard and BIOS revision are you using?
Part Number: 141-BL-E759-A1
I also try to update BIOS on latest one.
  1. Did this problem occur right away or over time? If so how long did it take before the problem showed? Does this issue occur on every system boot?
I used this Motherboard for 10 months every day. Motherboard work great all the time. I didn't have ANY issue with this Motherboard.
One day I buy new wireless headphones from Creative http://www.creative.com/s...fwarcraft/welcome.aspx
I use them for month or so and one day when I try to use USB port on front side of PC case I got this motherboard failure.

USB port what I use all the time:
- Keybord Logitech g19
- Keybord Logitech
- mouse Logitech g9x
- Wirelles headphones
- Iphone USB

  1. Does this issue occur outside of the Operating System? Such as in BIOS? If not, which Operating System is being used?]
I use Windows 7 OS and got mouse problem. I change keyboard to some PS/2 and worked fine but all USB ports was dead.
  1. Has the motherboard been RMA'd by EVGA? If so did the issue go away or persist?
Yes. I hope will be fine very soon :)

Regards,

  1. Please describe the issue, USB not responding? USB slow? Intermittent audible disconnects/reconnects during Call of Duty: World at War 2 gameplay.
  2. Which USB devices and/or ports are failing? Logitech MX518 mouse
  3. Which motherboard and BIOS revision are you using? E760
  4. Did this problem occur right away or over time? If so how long did it take before the problem showed? Does this issue occur on every system boot? Began approximately 2 months ago.
  5. Does this issue occur outside of the Operating System? Such as in BIOS? If not, which Operating System is being used? Only noticed it during gameplay but then the system is multi-boot configured and the issue occurs during gameplay under WinXP Pro. Haven't had the issue under Win Vista Ultmiate.
  6. Has the motherboard been RMA'd by EVGA? If so did the issue go away or persist? No

kingsleytim, we've already checked that (most of us) four months ago. Please also submit to us an explanation of what you are linking to, so we don't have to go elsewhere and weed through a bunch of text just to find out what you are talking about:
He is referring to FP connector problems.
We have already tested our systems with FP connectors removed, and ruled out that possibility.

Sorry i didnt "weed through" 4 months of posts to find out that you may have tried this. Its just a link i saw that may help. No need to go forum nazi. If you read it faulty front panels could be damaging the boards. So this is a valid thread. Just trying to help. My USB ports had a blue electrical arc when plugging in a device before they went dead, so something isnt right. EVGA swears its not their boards but my other board had no issues like this. I hope this gets resolverd soon $400 for a unreliable board is ridiculous.  Im running a HAF932 BTW.

This is happening when im pushing the button like in the video, but also even with an only one hit in the incorrect second. The keyboard light is flickering during initial POST.

2. keyboard issue

4. every single boot.

5. Yes, only during the POST.

6. No, mobo hasn't been RMA'd.

I hope, you understand my problem. Im getting in the bios from time to time, once from the first hit on the DEL button, sometime i have to restart 10 times...

If you want proper working usb then yes you should.

These usb problems have been present ever since the beginning of these evga x58 mobos and I imagine there will be no fix anytime soon if ever.

  1. Please describe the issue, USB not responding? USB slow?  Every time I boot into Windows 7 64 bit the mouse/keyboard do not respond.  Sometimes they 'come back' in a minute or so.. othertimes not..  It's a complete crapshoot if they will work or not.
It appears unplugging and replugging in the mouse/keyboard after bootup in Windows 7 returns it to normal state.. HIGHLY annoying.
  1. Which USB devices and/or ports are failing? Razer Naga mouse, Razer Lycosa keyboard.  NO OTHER USB devices are plugged in.
  2. Which motherboard and BIOS revision are you using? E760 Classified; BIOS 59
  3. Did this problem occur right away or over time? If so how long did it take before the problem showed? Does this issue occur on every system boot?  Just started happening after I changed CPU coolers.  Have been having all sorts of weird boot up problems.
  4. Does this issue occur outside of the Operating System? Such as in BIOS? If not, which Operating System is being used? Nope, only in Windows 7. BIOS works like a champ.
  5. Has the motherboard been RMA'd by EVGA? If so did the issue go away or persist? Has not been RMADED.

Hi all,

We are still trying to reproduce the USB issue that some are experiencing in the forum. In order to correct this potential issue we need detailed information on the following items. Please respond in this thread with the following information. Please only post once in this thread.

  1. Please describe the issue, USB not responding? USB slow?

As soon as my Western Digital Element portable external hard drive (2.5") is plugged in USB (either front or back of computer), all USB ports become dead (non-responding). After removing the external hard drive and reboot (or shutdown) of computer, POST takes 5-8 minutes to identify two internal SATA hard drives. After OS is finally loaded, all USB are still dead. I have to disconnect and reconnect the power cord to get all USB ports back. By the way, I do not overclock my computer and all BIOS settings are using default values.
  2. Which USB devices and/or ports are failing?

    All USB ports.
  3. Which motherboard and BIOS revision are you using?

141-BL-E757-TR and with the latest BIOS revision 64 (05/12/2010)
  4. Did this problem occur right away or over time? If so how long did it take before the problem showed? Does this issue occur on every system boot?

This problem occurs since the first day after OS (Windows 7 32-bit) was installed. It will not occur every time but in a high rate around 80-90% on every system boot.
  5. Does this issue occur outside of the Operating System? Such as in BIOS? If not, which Operating System is being used?

It does not occur outside of OS (Windows 7 Professional 32-bit).
  6. Has the motherboard been RMA'd by EVGA? If so did the issue go away or persist?

Not yet. I was hoping to find solution in this forum before RMA this board.
Thanks,
Jacob

Thanks for your help.
** EDIT **  Please list all usb devices you have installed.

I began having USB problems immediately after installing drivers from the mobo disk.

On a hunch, I went into Device Manager & deleted the first "Intel(R) ICH10 Family Enhanced Host Controller" entry at the top of the list. Instantly, Windows began installing all USB Root Hubs. Haven't had a problem with my mouse, printer, scanner, etc. since.

Hope this helps.

Re:For those who are experiencing USB issues 2010/05/27 07:49:27 (permalink)
I never used the Motherboard disk, i used what windows picked up by default. I fixed my problems by unplugging my front usb ports and now only use the back ones. So my fix for the same issue did not involve removing drivers.

Quick note... Its not my front panel causing issues. I have tried two other motherboards in the same case with front panel and they work fine. My issue revolved around the front panel header of my x58 classy. So i am just posting my resolution to my usb issue. It seems to be hardware related with this specific board and not case or front panel related..

Re:For those who are experiencing USB issues 2010/06/03 07:35:53 (permalink)
Not sure if this really belongs here as I think it is more of a BIOS bug than a true USB issue that some are experiencing, but here is the issue.

Classified 760 Rev 1.0
Old bios SZJ1 - no issue when using the add-on PCI slot USB connection, but no USB during boot up using the USB ports on the back of the MB.  No issue if I use a regular keyboard.
New bios 064 - no USB during boot up even on the add on PCI slot card.  No issue with a regular keyboard.

During boot up, my keyboard does not respond in time for me to get into the bios screen.  It works fine after it gets to the ICHR10 screen, but before that it does not work.  I am using a Steel Series keyboard that lights up.  If I use a regular keyboard then it is fine and I can get into the bios.  I was previously using bios SZJ1 and I could use the PCI slot USB adapter which plugged directly into the MB and the keyboard would work during boot up.  I updated the bios to 064 for the 980x cpu and now even the USB PCI add on card does not respond for the Steel Series keyboard that lights up.  It still works for a regular keyboard, but I shouldn't have to plug in a basic keyboard just to get into the bios during boot up.

Anyone know of a solution to this issue or something I could try to get the keyboard to work at boot up?

FYI you can plug in a PS2 keyboard and run concurrently with your USB kybd without prob, the PS2 kybd will be able to access your BIOS.

Main (gaming) rig: i7-3930K; Asus Rampage IV Extreme; H100 W/p-p Excaliburs, AS5; MSI 7870 2GD5/OC; Crucial M4 SSD 256GB.
See my primary ModsRigs: Adam for the rest, and I have a second (wife's) rig Asus Rampage III Extreme & 960: Eve.

Overclocking is useless to me if it is not rock stable.

Yes, that is what I do now, but I would like to use just one keyboard instead of having two.  It's ok, looks like I may have solved the issue by getting the Rampage Extreme III.  Obviously not an ideal situation, but if EVGA is not going to address this issue other than starting a thread, then I see no hope for this being resolved on this MB.

Come on EVGA we still need this resolved. MY $400 motherboard is going to waste.

My second post on the subject,

My front USB header no longer works,
I did rebuild my PC to add an H50, I will take it apart again and check the other USB header. I think their is 2 because the board comes with an Expansion card style USB.

maybe the other one works. IDK.

If my USB issues are not resolved I have no choice but to RMA the board.  It will be my first RMA from EVGA ever.

I have been very patient.

Hi everyone.
I just got my 132-BL-E758-A1 mid May and have been having problems with the USB ports.
I searched the Forum and found this thread.
I see this has been going on since February or before?
it can't be a coincidence f the issue is this common.
EVGA.... what's up???
I was hoping to NOT RMA my MOBO since I use my rig evey day.
I have filled in details to jacob's questions:
We are still trying to reproduce the USB issue that some are experiencing in the forum. In order to correct this potential issue we need detailed information on the following items. Please respond in this thread with the following information. Please only post once in this thread.

  1. Please describe the issue, USB not responding? USB slow?  USB not responding, but it happens inconsistently
  2. Which USB devices and/or ports are failing? Razer Tarantula keyboard, Razer Imperator mouse.
  3. Which motherboard and BIOS revision are you using?  E758 A1. Current BIOS = 64
  4. Did this problem occur right away or over time? If so how long did it take before the problem showed? Does this issue occur on every system boot? Started happening right away. Happens about every other boot.
  5. Does this issue occur outside of the Operating System? Such as in BIOS? If not, which Operating System is being used? During boot up, get a "keyboard not connected" error message. Other times, mouse will stop working in mid-game. sometimes un-plugging and re-inserting mouse or keyboard will re-enable functionality. Running Win 7 Premium, 64 bit
  6. Has the motherboard been RMA'd by EVGA? If so did the issue go away or persist? No RMA yet... am trying to avoid if possible... it's a pain in the butt... I was hoping maybe it's a BIOS issue.
So... what do I do now????  Jacob? Guys?

Hmm, problem seems to have "disappeared" recently. The intermittent disconnect/reconnects are gone.

For me while I was running my 758 the problem seemed to be voltage related and was addressed in a bios update.  I've not seen this problem since installing my 760 using bios 64.
