ya know i am actually surprised that so far they still have 2500 active users after 11 days, so 2/3rds still fold after the first 4 days. and they are still pumping out over 100 million per day.

Looks like they've leveled out to around 110 Million PPD for their average at this point. Definitely some fine heavy lifting going on!

I started folding because of the video in the forum post and have seen most of barnacules videos. Definitely impressive what he has managed in such a short time. Id say with the type of audience he would have there would be some decent hardware on his team and even saw on his twitter post people buying 1080s to get behind his folding cause.

As has been said at the end of the day the more folding being done the better regardless of the team. Although I agree is you let the new people barnacules got into folding know about EVGA bucks could give this team a boost pretty quick!!

Depends on your budget as always AzN. If you could go 1070, it is the best bang for the buck so far. 980ti are pretty good too, some used in the market. I'm stuck with 980s because I have no budget. They work nice, an upgrade is always nice though.... Will be good to have you back, I know the heat plays a big part for some.

Looks great, I've been out of the loop following the new stuff as of late. Guess this would run as a primary card, replacing my 780Ti? haha shoot.
But yea, looking to find a good replacement for the 560Ti that will produce decent numbers possibly around Black Friday time.

I used to be in the top 500 on the team :) drop down to 800's... need to fix that

Depends on whether you want to game with it in addition to folding. If you want to game with it, and you are or are thinking about running higher resolution than 1080p, I'd say go with the 1080 rather than the 1070. The 1070 may well beat the 1080 in a $/ppd comparison, but if you're gaming at higher resolution, it won't really get you there, and in the end will leave you wanting more.

the 1070 will game perfectly fine at 1440p by 60Hz. if you are doing 4K or high refresh rate gaming on brand new AAA titles then 1080 is needed.

As cheap as the good monitors are these days (I paid $354 shipped for a non-gsync 28" 60hz 4K monitor that looks fantastic), if not doing 4K then a person really should be doing high framerate 1440p or else they're really paying an opportunity cost. The 1080p resolution at <= 60hz doesn't even require the 1070, so if one is considering the 1070 or 1080 they may as well aim high.

Additionally; low performance (1080) monitor is also much more likly to cause a bottleneck at your CPU.

Welp it looks like curecoin is back in the news. With this last update i noticed that curecoin is trailing behind evga by only 425k over a 3 hour period. I took a look as to see why only to find that the price of gridcoin, fldc, and cure all jump up to a massive 1130% increase over 24hours about a week ago. Tens of thousands of btc were traded that day and interest has most definitly gone up. Though not sure if Barnacules video stured up this spike in cure as well.

Seems that Team Playing is going wayside.
Yes the Cause is still their only finding now that a Team means nothing anymore.

oh, playing multiple teams at the same time... i dont see a problem with it. i fold for EVGA cuz i can not cuz of the coin. last month was the first month i could actually afford to fold full tilt for EVGA to help reach that 100 billion milestone. its nice knowing that i can fold 24/7 and have my power costs covered. who here who actually wants to find a cure not want to also cover costs of doing so if you simply do the same work under another team number? i believe in the cause enough so to invest heavily into it and to hopefully see it grow into something more. its a passion for me.
