Ok got a floppy need to update your X58 E758 Bios or any of evga's mobos that have an outdated bios. For the E758 first you need to download and run the exe with a floppy in the drive.
E758_73.exe Make sure you have a floppy in the floppy drive
find the .bin File and remove it. Should be named something like E75873.bin
Next you need to show all files/folders, the main one uncheck Hide protected operating system Files
Download the latest bios for your mobo. right now for the E758/ EVGA X58 3-way it is
E75882.bin 82, copy it to your floppy.
Startup Notepad have it show all files on your A drive not just txt, now select AUTOEXEC.BAT
CLICK OPEN
You will see something like
@echo off
cls
awdflash E75873.bin /sn /cc /cd /wb /py
Now you will need to change the bin file name example below.
@echo off
cls
awdflash E75882.bin /sn /cc /cd /wb /py
Notice how we changed the bin files name. Click save.
Reboot your system, get into bios, reset defaults, make sure your bios is setup to bootup from your floppy drive. You should not have to do a thing. Follow the instructions it should do everything itself. Once its done and it says F1 remove the floppy disk. Press F1 so it reboots, go into your bios and manually set everything again. You should be all set.
Some people still use floppys I do... I still use dos sometimes, still think the floppy is the must have/awesome troubleshooting tool while working on a pc.
