Fire Strike Ultra is for 4K and most users ATM do not have 4K Monitors so what you see is not True 4K Scores.
Even mine is not a true score.

Here is my Fire Strike Ultra score with 2 970 FTWs at stock speed and an i7 3820 @4.3 http://www.3dmark.com/fs/4205754

I don't have my 970 FTWs anymore (stepping up) and will have my 2 970 FTW+s here on Tuesday and will test them as well.

Here were my results on base, with 2x Reference 970's with mild overclock:
    Overall: 15,174

Firestrike Extreme with no overclocking accept on CPU, so Reference GPU clocks:
    Overall: 8136

Your score is not bad everything is as high as it should be. Your graphics score is where it should be with that clocks and your CPU is holding your overall score a bit back. But keep in mind it's just a synthetic test.

When I benchmark I normally close all programs even precisionX to get the highest possible score (It mainly affects Physics and Combined Score but also graphics score a bit). You can also try to overclock your GPU core and VRAM.

Yes I know it says that right on the page.
It was more that the Ultra test may not be the best benchmark to compare with.

I guess I'm confused as to why not having a 4K monitor means it's not a true 4K score in the first post.

Because the benchmark renders the image at 4K, then downscales it to your monitor resolution.

Not to sure why my score is so low...

    Specs:
EVGA GTX 970 SC ACX 2.0
    8GB DDR3 @ 1600
    Intel i7 2600k(3.4Ghz) OC 4Ghz
ASUS P8P67 Deluxe MB (PCI 2.0)

    Score: http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/4938329
    Total - 9868
    Graphics - 11740
    Physics - 10177
    Combined - 4404

Is it my processor or PCI 2.0? (Maybe both, which one should I replace?). If I OC my CPU to 4.4 would that be good? I had it there one before but it was questionably unstable.

    @bsmegreg

Your score looks fine for your hardware. People with 15k+ are running TWO 970s in SLI, not one.

So played around a bit with Precision X after reading this thread. Had another go at Firestrike:

    Score: 17946
    Graphics Score:25583
    Physics Score: 12127
    Combined Score: 7125

    GTX 970 FTW sli, 4790k, 16 GB DDR3 2400, Gigabyte Z97X-UD-3H BLK.

Pretty chuffed with this. Never overclocked anything before and I feel like i went with a rather modest overclock. Stable atleast. GPU clock capped out at 1531Mhz. Temperatures ran within 60-75 degrees. Pretty decent for a sub-optimal HTPC case. Only thing is CPU bumped upto 65 degrees during the Physics test and that's a bit more than i'm comfortable with.

    Overall, good vibes.

Don't think ill manage to squeeze anymore out of it. Max I could get out of precision x without tinkering with the BIOS is 1550 mhz and 3850 for the memory.

Single 970 Fire Strike score of 11456 http://www.3dmark.com/fs/4408680

Still need to switch over to the OC bios and see if I can get any higher. This was at 1555MHz boost clock. And CPU running an OC of 4.5GHz

FS really likes OC'd graphics RAM too.

my score is horrid compared to your guys.

    http://www.3dmark.com/fs/5013080

That is my best one but currently all tests bringing back 52xx

    Things I am observing.

The result page reports my clock as 1216, eveeryone else's is reported as 13xx, so its as if my card ramps up slower or something, or you guys overclocked the non boosted clocks?

My card can get nowhere near 1550mhz boost speed due to voltage issues.

But the boost clock seems pointless for me anyway as during the firestrike extreme test it maxes out at about 1300mhz boost due to power utilisation maxing out, thats even with a 110% power limit with +25mv.

Are you guys reaching max boost clocks during the extreme benchmark?

By the way yes I am comparing to the single 970 results posted, but does seem most here have dual 970s.  Shame this thread isnt longer.

the best ive been able to muster since i got a second card
    http://www.3dmark.com/fs/4862865
    17256 overall
    24232 graphics
    12414 physics
    6705 combined

i think the overclock i had on the cards was 1450 or something close
i have since gotten them happy at 1500, but i dont like running my 2600k at 5.0ghz so i dont feel like running it again lol

EDIT: Scores updated.  New highs.  Puts me in a tie for first in Extreme against 2 x 970s and in 4th in Firestrike against 2 x 970s.  First in both spots if you filter on processor as well.
