Not sure if its connected, but ever since I put my PC into the DG-8 case my drives have been critically failing. I had 2 HDDs and 1 SSD. my 4TB HDD is over 5 years old and i'll give some credit to the age of it being that it might just be dying. However, I  bought a 6TB that I didn't install until I got the case last year and its failing as well. And once in a while my SSD will crash out of nowhere and its only about 1.5 years old. Neither of my older drivers showed any signs of failure until I placed them into this case. And its been happening with greater frequency as of late. I've begun to work on fixing the issue by ordering a new 4TB drive in order to negate the issue and should be able to ship my 6TB to WD since its under warranty but for 3 completely separate drives to start failing around the same time frame is a bit too coincidental.

if you installed them behind the motherboard then i could see that the increased temperature and low air flow back there could help contribute to drive failure but only if you are working your PC hard enough to make your drives actually run hot. have you ever checked your drive temps?

running HD tune provides some temps, they generally hover between 45-55 (usually mid 40s) when in use. But I don't do anything extensive with them beyond playing video games and watching movies. I'm not currently at my machine to let you know what they are doing right now. Unfortunately I don't think there is anywhere to put them in the front of the case. The front of my Case when its being pushed usually hangs around 35-38 according to the case itself.

35-38 is relatively high ambient case temp and most HDD manufactures recommend keeping drives under 50C. how many fans do you have installed? you may simply not have enough airflow, that or your room temp is hot to begin with. if you do have your drives behind the motherboard i would recommend moving them to the HDD cages and put them up front so they will have direct airflow on them from the intake fans for better cooling.

Change out the SATA Cables on your Dives that are failing.
If they are Green Drives they are known for failure.
What is the Room or Ambient Temperatures?
40C being 104F would make your room about 90F?

I am looking into just using an air deflector to get the bottom fan ( of the three on the right) to blow into the hole
after you remove the 2.5 in disk holder.

This way I should get extra cooling to the 2 WD full size disks in the back.

SSD's are so light I just leave them hanging all over the case or throw in the bottom
(main system SSD are M.2 and they attach to the motherboard)

Not sure I would ever have a 2.5 rotating disk in the 3 unit disk holder.

That holder can hold 3.5" drives too, not just 2.5".

That is a good point Chris and I ended up moving my 2 HDD to the inside but set up placing the HDD in the  back was a lot.
EXCEPT for getting the disks in that plastic holder- I was sure I was going over bend and break it.
