Is there any other way to install drivers for USB 3.0 and NVMe into windows 7 without slipstreaming and using the usb mode

Can you use Windows 7 install using your mouse and keyboard in USB 2.0 ports and a Sata DVD Optical drive. But put the NVMe drivers and USB 3.0 drivers on another USB and install them that way

yes I believe you can as the windows install wizard lets you load in drivers from connected devices like a usb flash drive.

This question is more for my own curiosity, but what is the reason you don't want to install Windows 10? If this is a gaming rig, Direct X 12 is Win10 only which in my opinion is reason enough to run 10. Despite the sloppy way that M$ delivered the 10 upgrade, the OS itself is quite good in my opinion. You can opt out of pretty much everything that most people cite as concerns for not upgrading. I don't want to hijack the thread, but I feel like you want to get the most out of your computer and in my opinion staying current is the best way to do that. Plus you wouldn't have to mess around with slipstreaming drivers since Win10 has native support of USB3.0 and NVMe.

+1 on this and with DX12 support this is the best option in my personal opinion. If you still want to slipstream a Windows 7 DVD or USB stick I made a thread some years back on how to do that here on the forums so I just have to find it. Let me know if you still want to do this.

AMD Ryzen 9 7950X,  Corsair Mp700 Pro M.2, 64GB Corsair Dominator Titanium DDR5  X670E Steel Legend, MSI RTX 4090 Associate Code: H5U80QBH6BH0AXF. I am NOT an employee of EVGA

The game I am using this for does not utilize direct X12 they are just moving to DX11 now and wont probably be on 12 for a while.

This is a DCS World Flight sim rig only.

I'm just going to use the sata drive because I'm using the X400 M.2 which is not a NVME

That seems like a good reason. Good luck with your new rig! Let us know how it turns out

Anyone with lots of WMC  .WTV files that need DRM to play back because they recorded using something like silicondust hdhomerun will still need their old Windows 7. ( Actually the exact same system and hardware).
We will see how it goes in 3 years.

If I had not used a  I7-7700K (with out reading the fine print) I would have just dual booted windows 7 and 10
