Not to open another can of worms, but does this bios include the Micron fix?

It's the same revision as the 1070 SC before the fan curve fix. Just double-checking, not complaining....

I've been approved for an ICX upgrade in which I will pay the £99 on Monday when I get paid, but I was wondering instead of going to the ICX is it possible for me to go from the 1080 FTW directly to the up and coming 1085 aka 1080Ti? I know going to an ICX will give me the ability to step up once again but I was hoping to bypass the ICX upgrade.

And of course while we can't expect to get any official answers until after the 1080ti is announced, I sure wish I would be able to do that as well. Mainly for me I just think about the shipping costs for both of my cards to go there to get the ICX, then both again to get a step-up, then add in the cost of moving to the ICX and then the step-up and it really adds up. Well it adds up in Canadian pesos that is. Even shipping both cards together I would be looking at about 120-140 in shipping and then the ICX upgrade at $260 together and then whatever the actual cost to step up is. Doubt it will happen, but never hurts to hope.

TL;DR: Would love to be able to skip the ICX and go straight to 1080ti without back and forth shipping.

No, as this upgrade program is not a step up program. If you are within your step up window, then you may be able to, once nvidia makes an announcement. If you are outside of your step up window, the answer is simply no.

Oh I know the the ICX upgrade and the step-up are different programs. I'm just guessing there will be a decent number that are doing the upgrade with the thought of bringing them back into having a chance to step up to the 1080ti. Frankly (and not saying they would do this at all, highly doubtful) it would actually be cheaper for Evga as well. I mean if they offered a special hybrid step-up. Basically for people that qualify for the ICX upgrade allow them to step up to the TI just with the extra $99 on top. That way Evga gets the same amount of money they would have and they only have to ship out a card once, instead of sending out the ICX only to have to get it back in a step-up.

Like i said, I highly doubt Evga would do this, but it would be beneficial for both Evga and the customer. And of course this is all depending on what nvidia announces in 4 days.

Not 7 working days, 7 straight in a row. Example, approved the 21st, pay by the 28th.

Ups says they delivered my ICX upgrade, but I didn't get it. I've sent eVGA an email, but fear they delivered it to the wrong address or it was stolen from my "front door" where Ups delivered it.

Does eVGA not require a signature for a $800 GPU? What the hell...

Thank you for posting this! From the look of things here, the EVGA's hybrid kit will fit. That means that even if Ti Step-Up doesn't happen, I'd have the option of re-mounting the my kit on the new card, and possibly, with a converter, control the radiator fan through Precision with the second fan header of the FTW2. And if it does happen, I can sell my kit to offset the cost of the upgrade.

As for the EKWB, I idly wonder if that part of the cooler could be safely milled out (by a competent machinist) without intruding on any part of the water channels. That would void the warranty on the cooler. Easier but ridiculously dumbly, you could instead void the warranty on the card itself by taking wire snippers and cutting off the fan header (or de-solder, but what's the fun in that?). Glad I'm not foolish, desperate and determined enough to want to resort to such measures. Fun to ponder over though.

looniam
AFA the water blocks, no they won't fit since a fan header was moved to accommodate the temp LED on the shroud:

FTW ACX 3.0 PCB (courtesy of THG)

FTW2 ICX (courtesy THG) led for temps on the end (6 pin)sorry didn't mark it.

that puts it right here (courtesy of EKWB):

those stand offs and milling on the heatsink are much less than on the acrylic.

Apologies if this was already asked and answered, but is there still a memory lottery with the new cards? My 1070 has crazy OCing Samsung memory and I would not want to send it in for the upgrade and get back one with Micron.

Black Hole Box
Apologies if this was already asked and answered, but is there still a memory lottery with the new cards? My 1070 has crazy OCing Samsung memory and I would not want to send it in for the upgrade and get back one with Micron.

Multiple people have received micron memory, and most of them at getting around +450 on it.

If the minor difference between samsung and micron determines your upgrade, just stick with what you have.

I guess the ICX upgrades for the Classified cards will have an illuminated Stay Tuned! on them instead of the word CLASSIFIED on them.

Please, be patient. If evga is going to do an upgrade for them, it will be separate more than likely. Have patience.

Just trying to inject a bit of humor.
