I have a EVGA GeForce 6800 Ultra, P/N: 256-A8-N345-AX
(that's right, a whopping 256MB)

I'm looking for drivers for Windows 98SE and Windows XP. I went to NVidia's site, do I select GeForce 6 series?

My Problem now is finding a newer Graphics Card that will work in my Windows XP rig.
It needs to say XP run my Weather Station.
It has been on line 7/24 since 2004 when I stated to play around with Personal Weather Stations.

How new? PCI-e? Direct-X 12? Did your current video card die?

Windows 10 is not a stable OS to run unattended like Windows XP is.
Also the Weather Software and Video Capture tools do not even work on Windows 7.
Think of it this way, it is like I have an ATM in my house running Windows XP like our Banks still do.
But Yes No Support have not have it for a long time now.
If I could get Windows 98SE working well on a newer computer I would have one setup still today, my old 486DX died 6 years ago.

Good News for the Graphics Card though is EVGA still Makes and Sales some that support Windows XP.

It is PCI-e a Sapphire GTX 550Ti with a GB of memory.
My primary card fan died and I have a second card I put in until I find a GPU fan.

Grab an AMD HD 5450 (512 MB or 1 GB). All major OS' are supported. It's the best value card out there for light purposes. It even comes with an extra low profile bracket.

I through away 3 ATI Cards that would have worked but have move over to NVIDIA now.
I did give ATI now AMD a 4th chance with a pair of R2 290X Cards though.

Why do you need a newer card? I'd try to run something around that era, probably nothing newer than GTX 7000 series on Nvidia's side and HD 1000 series on the ATI side.

A Precision T3400 and a PowerEdge SC 440 Server with OptiPlex 330 as a backup.
ATM all have Windows XP installed
The Precision T3400 has the GTX 550Ti installed
The OptiPlex 330 has the Quadro FX 540 installed

The PowerEdge SC 440 has the ATI Redeon 1300 installed
I had to fire up to see what ATI Card was installed so I updated the Virus software from June 2015 to today.

I Surprise by Windows Update though.

Under Windows XP VISTA 7 and 8.x you can hide updates and they never come back for the most part.

Like the ones on the reference models?

I always had issues with AMD reference cards... They default in the 20-30% range for their fan profile and allow the GPU to hit 90C+. I've been dealing with that issue since the HD3870's. Pretty much had a card from AMD for every generation, minus the R9 Fury stuff. The R9 290X reference card I had was a piece of poop without an aggressive fan profile to keep it below 70C. Ended up getting a few Sapphire Tri-X R9 290X's after that and everything ran cool and fairly quiet.

I do now stay away from Sapphire for the most part. 4 out of 4 fans have died now.
I am good to go until at least 2020 as I picked up a few NVIDIA GT Cards for now that is.
