Hey, I haven't been keeping up with the latest from EVGA.  At one point it was rumored that they were going to manufacture an optical drive specifically for the DG-8.  Did that ever happen?  If not, has anyone experimented with DVD/blu-ray drives that are compatible with the case?  (I know every sata drive is compatible technically, but I mean compatible in terms of being able to actually mount and access it).

Also, did EVGA go public with their water cooling systems?  What's the latest with that?

Thanks and happy Thanksgiving!

i do know someone in the forums here said that they would try to make something work but i haven't heard of EVGA making an optical drive for this case. as for their water cooling system that they showcased at CES 2016 with the DG-87 case i haven't heard anything new about that either :/

There is no external opening in the case to use. Short if cutting a hole, I just bought an external drive holder for my existing Blu-ray burner.

I have a drawing and conceptual work pending on a hardware piece to add optical drives to the case.
Unfortunately i dont have much spare time. I work 2 jobs, with a newborn boy and wife taking most of my remaining time.

It is being worked on and i have scheduled 3D printer time at my local library.
once i have a working prototype i will update on the forums.
It wont be soon though, scheduling problems and extra work because of the holidays, is hampering my work on this.

It is still in development.  Forgive me for taking so long.

Thanks !

There's only thing that I don't like...

I had to run a cable from my rear usb ports through the case, and it's a bit of an eye sore.  (see the single white cable in the upper-left)

Can anyone suggest a way to route that cable so it's hidden better?

Oh wow, didn't even think to put it like that.  Thanks for the idea.  There have been many times I have gone to put in one of my DVD-Audios to listen to and forget that "oh ya, this case is so big it doesn't have room for an optical drive" lol.  I will have to look into doing this myself.

Can you post pics without the EVGA plastic partition blocking the view on how you did that?  Or any other angles?  Thanks

I would run it alongside the internal HDMI cable which is connected to the graphics card in the rear compartment.
