I installed a Samsung 512gb PCI gen3x4 pm951 which shows up as a drive in OS but in bios fixed boot order there is no SSD option I have an x99 classified mb. How can I make this a SSD a boot drive? It does say that it is enabled in onboard device configuration, socket 3. Thanks for your help.

Windows needs to see the drive in the boot manager and so does the BIOs. Insert a Windows DVD/USB stick and boot from it. Choose the startup repair option. After that is run then see if the boot options contain Windows Boot Manager as an option and if so then choose it. However if that doesn't work you'll need to use the Windows DVD or USB stick and install Windows onto the Samsung drive. After that is done and Windows is installed restart the PC and check the boot options as well as disk drive options. Choose Windows Boot manager as the boot device. Set the Samsung as the primary boot device.

I think you need a restart for it to show up.  As long as you installed Windows no problem, it should show up after a reset.  What Windows are you installing btw?

Use this Associate Code at your checkouts or follow these instructions for Up to 10% OFF on all your EVGA purchases:

A restart...maybe...but better to make a complete shutdown and restart.
