Do I go B-stock with a 980 classified, a 970 SSC, or bite the bullet 1070 FTW. The problem is the rumor of a 1080Ti which I will want to get but I really don't want to spend $400+ and turn around and spend who knows how much for the 1080Ti (if rumors are true) I really only need a 960 to average over 1M PPD. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

No single card will give you 1million PPD..
    My 3x 970 SSC's put out around 750 to 850k PPD
My 2x 980ti's put out about 1 to 1.2million PPD

I am awaiting the 1080Ti's for my next upgrade, if that ever happens.

    Cheers

Well a Titan Pascal would, but that is a very expensive card.

I've read in another thread that you have 3 GPUs (980 Ti, 970 and 960) and with these GPUs you should be able to reach 1 million PPD, if you run them 24/7 without interruption.
    The 980 Ti = 575k, 970 = 275k and 960 = 150k average PPD without OCing the GPUs much.

But if you want to be sure to hit 1 million PPD all the time, then I can recommand you the 1070 card to replace your 970 and 960.  You could try to sell your 970 and 960 cards and use that money for the upgrade to a 1070. And you will also save electricity costs.

I'm running a 1070 SC and 980 Ti SC card and my average PPD is ~1.15 million with a very small OC and I know my "old" system is holding me back a little (with a modern system it would probably be ~1.25 million PPD).

I am currently running with a 960, 970, and a 980Ti. I get anywhere from 800,000 to 900,000 PPD. I just want to add one more card to put me over the 1M PPD. I am leaning towards another 970 with the possible 1080Ti upcoming. a 960 would be cheaper but will only add about 100-150 thousand PPD.

I know you don't have a Pascal GPU yet, Bcavnaugh, but a GTX1070 SC or FTW has almost the same folding performance as the Titan X (Maxwell) and costs $400 - $460 and also has a lower power consumption.

How else could I help you out on the TZC this year!

    Nice, Bcavnaugh!!!
Then it's time that you start folding with those cards to get a good PPD estimate for the TZC.

I will once have this beast completed with all the testing I have been doing for the last week or so.
I now have the Memory up to 96GB and are running High CPU High & Memory usage BOINC Projects.
Once I have all the BOINC CPU Tasks completed and also all the vBox Tasks tested I will move over to the Folding Side of the House.
Maybe tonight or sometime this weekend.

Off subject is fine, there is a grain of good info in it. I was looking at the B-stocks and saw the titan. Chris had a good suggestion, then I wouldn't be out of pocket all at once for the 1080Ti, but there has not been an official announcement on a launch. Hard to rely on rumors. Craigslist has not good of late, I bought the best priced ones that were available. I am thinking that the best way to go is a b-stock 970, I get a good price and still get great production. I am selling a 750Ti probably Tuesday and that will offset the cost a little bit.

I have a 980ti, 950, and 750ti.  They do about 825K when dedicated folding. I personally wouldn't spend any money on a 9 series.  It's a 1070 (or maybe 1080) or nothing in my book.

Well not so sure about 82C on my GTX 1080 is all to good but it is running now.
No Overclocking as this is not the place for it. It is running at 1880+ with the fan at 96%

Seems to me I hit 1M ppd with just my GTX980Ti and GTX970. 700k and 300K. Both OC to around 1450.
Add in a GTX960 and no doubt will hit 1m ppd

Thanks for the info. I didn't know that a little OC would put those 2 cards at the 1Mil mark. I will have to wait for the new PSU to do so though, I am near the limit of my PSU (I probably should not have the 960 and 980Ti running on the 750 G2).

This seems to be the most logical course of action. Plus there are a few folders chasing me down I would like to try to keep at bay.  I have not gotten over CoolGTX blowing my doors off yet.
