I am thinking about buying the DG-87 case. I want to know if the H100i Cooler can be installed in the top of the case. Or can it be installed somewhere  else in the case? Please advise.

I have a H100i and have it installed in the front. The top and front can accept radiators up to 420mm, this is only a 240mm so it will of course fit.

You can check out my Mods Rig page for pictures if you want to see what it looks like.

Are you wanting the rad on top of the frame or mounted below the frame ?  I have had my h100i mounted both ways, and had it mounted up front(right side).
The top of the case(grill) pops off, it snaps in pretty tightly.
You need to find a good area that lets you lift up enough to be able to get a good grip..I know.. when doing this it feels like it might break.
what i did is to open the left side fan cover, and remove the right side grill, grip both sides of the top grill and lift up a little bit on each side till it popped.
Then it was much easier to get off.
Good luck, and let us know if you got it off.

Thanks for the reply I finally able to get the top cover after  your confirmation that it did in fact come off.
One of the posts appeared to have been glued in place and eventually it snapped off, but the others came out ok
And I was using needle nose pliars to squeeze each one as it was coming it...that was a real ****.

For the next incarnation I suggest an easier access panel on top.

I considered putting the rad on the right where the intake fans are but 2 reasons changed my  mind
1.  Intake fans get the dirtiest on my machines
2.  With dual 1080's OCd Im not 100% sure those fans in thew back will keep that area cool with out having serious air flow right to left.
My build is pretty clean most cables are in the back and dont impede the flow of air...that bottom fan on the right appears to be useless as it
blows right into a solid wall of cables and case.

quick question is it worth doing A push/Pull set up for a 280mm radiator?
I keep wondering if one set of fans might limit the other and restrict air through the radiator.

280 rad, might decrease temps a couple degrees celsius, but if its a good Rad, and pump, then no real need unless you just want to increase the noise level..
Although im just using a corsair h100i right now, im thinking of getting the XSPC RayStorm Pro D5 Photon RX360.
That will go on in the front. Depending on how it looks. i like the 140's up front and 120's on top.  Full speed on front, low speed on top, keep the case pressure positive.

I agree with this.  I was going to go with a push/pull config with both my H115 and Hybrids, but I gave up because it's too much of a hastle to get the correct screws and re-config all the installed fans in the DG 87. My case temp is 19-21C at rest and 22C under heavy load.  I open the door- and it's virtually silent.
