I did this setup on 05/30, now it's still pending. Can't believe it's almost 4 months now. I wouldn't do this setup up if I've known it would take such long time. I ordered ekwb full cover water block for this 1080 right after I made this order. Now it is still in the box.

What card are you stepping up to? Reference (6181) or SC (6183). Seems that the delay is on the 6183's at this time. I was in the queue since 5/29...got stepped up to the SC...then offered to step back to my original choice (6181). Waited another week...nothing happened with the SC's, so I took the offer on the 6181 and had a 1080 within a week.

I did mine on 5/25 for a 6183. Not a peep since. Step-up sounds great in theory. It's an interesting experiment, but no, it hasn't sold me.

Depending on the time of day you entered the queue, you may be in the next wave of step ups to be completed. There has been a severe shortage of all 1080 cards, whether FE, Reference ACX 3.0 (which seem most plentiful), SC and the reference EVGA heatsink. I know that I was fulfilled immediately when I chose the 6181, vs waiting any longer on the SC (6183). If you choose to wait on the 6183, it could be awhile...or it could be tomorrow...not even sure if the Step Up dept. knows until someone over them tells them that they have some product to fill orders. If you look at the 1080 product page with all models...they are consistently "out of stock"

SC's are moving in EU. I've been on the list since 5/31 for the ACX3.0 and got upgraded to the SC along with loads of people and finally got my step 3 email last Friday. Sent my 980ti out on Monday and got the email that my 1080SC just shipped.

I signed up for the step-up on 5/28 at 4:00 a.m. Got upgraded to SC (6183). Waited for that card. Went thru steps 2 - step 5 on Friday 9/23. Shipped out my 980 Ti classy Saturday 9/24. Should have my new 1080 SC by weeks end. Thanks EVGA.

Since I registered for the step-up on 6/15 and they are just now filling up the day after 1080 launch day, I messaged EVGA support back regarding the 1080 ACX 3.0 option and asked them to put me in that queue. I'd rather not wait another 2-3 months for a factory setting I can do in a fraction of the time myself.

As I thought, the work week hits and I get the email for step 3. I would like to thank Bobmitch for sharing his experience with the queue. I took note and did the same as him. Now I am that much closer. Bought 980 TI Classified, registered and put myself in step-up for 6181 on 6/15. Was offered the 6183 upgrade as everyone else after 6/25 and then given an option to go back down to stock model around 8/20. Should give everyone a solid frame of reference, especially when I asked to be put back in the 6181 queue last week. A whole month after they offered the choice. Hopefully by Monday next week I will have my 1080 ACX 3.0.

Glad I could help. It just made sense for me. Chatted with someone else who got upgraded. Mind you...I was high 800's, perhaps 903 when I started in the queue (a ton of people dropped out the first week)...when I could still see it on 5/29. I was offered the upgrade to SC...then reverted back to the 6181 reference ACX 3.0 on 9/1 and had my new card by 9/9. Someone just posted that they got to step 2 today and they were 535 in the queue. I hope this gives some perspective on where things are. It is slow moving, but EVGA is doing their diligence to fulfill all. I am happy with my choice, as many others will be once it is all over. Patience and Good Luck to all!

Judging off what you and everyone else who could see their place in the queue before it was taken down, I was probably between 1500-2000. Definitely not waiting that long. Without the step-up option I probably would never have gotten a 1080, so regardless of the wait time I still get a beast of a gpu.

Generally speaking, how long can I expect to wait in the que? Started the step-up process a month ago for a 1070 ACX 3.0.

I personally haven't followed the 1070 step-up movement but it seems like it moves rather fast. Possibly a month+ I would assume. If you can watch the Step-Up Received! thread on here, look over what people say with the same product. Maybe that will give you a good sense of the movement. Hope this helps.
